Wow so many aggressive and rude people.

The OP was just letting you know his opinion, and he asked if you were with him or not. He wasn't asking you to slate his life choices. And yes this is a forum but jeez, go grab some happy juice or sumat peeps.

OP I'm 100% on your side, not for the BlackBerry 10 thing but for sticking to your guns and not budging. I regularly do exatly what you would do. I contract my self out 6-10 months of the year and relax the rest. I choose who I want to work for, be it huge retail clients or large Oil and Gas Corperations. I to, do what you do, I check everything is how I want it, and yup one of my questions is will my BB10 (Z10 or Q10 depending on the day) integrate well.

So don't listen to any of these "jerks" OP, if you want to work for a client that supports BB10 and refuse others that don't, then providing you have the credentials/experience to demand such working enviroments do it. I have a pretty epic life, lived in 6 countries so far contracting, currently in Canada.

Just an fyi to all the negative nellies out there - yes I have a family, and they are provided for abundantly.

    Flyin' high on my balcony.

Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
    A girl with kaleidoscope eyes

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
    Towering over your head
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes
    And she's gone

Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds

Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers
    That grow so incredibly high

Newspaper taxies appear on the shore
    Waiting to take you away
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds
    And you're gone

Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds

Picture yourself in a train in a station
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile
    The girl with kaleidoscope eyes

Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
I am not ashamed to say I read this in William Shatner's voice.

"The Transformed Man" is one of the greatest unintended comedy albums of all time.

I like your dedication to all things BlackBerry but I think the real problem is this ridiculous stance some companies have been taking with BYOD. I believe this to be a trend, and in the end companies that truly value their corporate security with migrate back to a device offering the best in corporate security along with the greater control that comes with it which BlackBerry offers - with excellent personal mobile options. I can think of another great company that bounced in spite of the critics leaving it for roadkill - GM.

This seems an extreme stance to me. But I'm curious. I get the impression you're a senior, perhaps particularly in-demand expert or specialist; also possibly one who works in a sector in which information security is a priority. These are the only ways I can rationalise your position, which on the face of it simply seems an unreasonable prerequisite to adopt as a condition for accepting a job offer. Am I thinking along the right lines?

That is a pure blackberry fan, although the thought seems to be a little bit extreme.

I have recently joined a sales team and they do have BYOD which I am happy about. However, when everyone in the company just keeps saying iPhone has higher security over BlackBerry, this is something I can't get it.

Team head at interview: Do you have an iPhone?
I: Nope. (I was using an Android at the time)

IT of our team: If you want to setup your BlackBerry with us, we will erase everything! With iPhone, nope.

This whole security thing is beyond me! I just want to use my darn Z30 to receive work email and sync company contacts. I guess I can never get it.

Why would they need to erase everything ? Isn't this just if you lose your phone?
