The only valuable upgrade is the obvious OS which I don't see many useful features that were implemented and the better battery life... which is a non remove able battery... I'll take two 1800 batteries rather than one 2800 battery... and I also prefer the smaller dimensions of the z10... z30 is a downgrade in the display PPI and overall downgrade.

Don't forget the faster processor, better antenna, better sound system, and more updated looks. The larger screenestate is always welcome, I suspect anything over 295ppi is not really noticable by the mortal human eye.....maybe a demigod would see the difference...dunno.

So if you are not looking for a larger screen, faster more reliable connection, longer battery life and an update on looks while still having the BB10 experience......ya, no reason at all

I see your point, but I still want one! It's not as big of an upgrade as it could have been.

I look at it totally different. I personally find the Z10 a bit too small so im looking forward to the Z30...that personal preference though. They are actually promoting the innovations in the speakers and the antenna so im really looking forward to trying these for myself. I think the Z10's battery life is "meh" so a 2800 with the new antenna from their Paratek acquisition....and i think that the battery life will last longer than the 2 Z10 batteries i go through in nearly a day. If it can even come close i'll be happy

The main disadvantage of z30 is its screen resolution, i think. It should be full HD display.

So ... be a happy camper with upcoming 10.2 release on your Z10 !

I'm very satisfied of my Zeds and Q10/5 and anything matching their quality (and I know it's better on Z30) with a bigger screen will rave me.
I for one will run to get it ASAP because my old eyes prefer bigger screen.
My efficiency also likes a no-brainer battery plus better reception, to start with.

Yeah. While I'm not looking to upgrade, I'm still happy that others will be able to upgrade.

The antenna 'enhancement' sounds interesting - I've had strange behavior of my Z10 where signal strength has varied widely over the space of a few inches inside a building. Not sure if the enhancement really does anything for it, but..

To me, a lack of user-serviceable battery is a notable downside - as handset batteries are typically consumables with fixed, relatively short lifespans and with relatively rapid capacity degradation. That was a strong negative with Apple, and if Samsung could package a honking battery in the G4, why couldn't BB in the Z30. Especially since they managed to do so in other BB10 handsets.

The Z10 battery pack will work with the Z30 - ok, you can never swap in the second battery, but you can still carry 2800 + 1800 effectively.

...and USB OTG is a good upgrade on the Z10 too. But I guess that doesn't fit OP's agenda

    for what reason?

1080p will cause alot more stress on the GPU, it'll render frames slower then a 720p, you want a higher FPS over a higher pixel density, at this density you will notice a lag in the frame rate more then you'll notice the more pixels. i'll agree they could have made it a 1080p simply to compete on a numbers front but at the end of it all 720p is better suited for a mobile device.

The Z30 is leaps and bounds ahead of the Z10 in all aspects, its not just .2GHz of higher clock speed, it uses a MUCH better GPU and also utilizes a Krait 300 cpu over the Z10s Krait 200. the Z30 will benchmark much higher then the z10, and since my Z10 geekbenches 1868 i'm guessing the Z10 will be well into the 2000 range

Larger screen for what purpose... it's a phone... I have other devices for my " multimedia needs ".... I don't need an oversized unporpuntunite phone to my ear... faster processor? ... 1.7 compared to 1.5... definitely a large boost in speed there that will be that much more noticeable... longer battery life... what good does that do you if you can't swap batteries and have no outlet to charge your device when traveling... I'll stick with my removeable battery... update on looks? ... to each its own... I don't see anything eye catching about it....if anything the size makes it much less sleek....

Whatever the case, I really hope the Z30 does well. Going to be hard with all the negative press out there. I'm hoping against all odds, BlackBerry will somehow turn a corner and gain some traction. They deserve some good news right about now.

The Z30 is better if not for the battery life and sound quality alone. Two definite cons on the Z10 especially compared to the Qs (well the battery life at least)

    I love my Z10 and that's why I know I'll love the Z30 When I get it.

I sort of think the Z10 is the perfect size, but sometimes I wish it was a little wider.

I am also looking forward to the bigger battery and overall design of the Z30.
