    Hi all,

I'm having a hard time with this Z30, I recently wiped it and re-installed the OS but now the Settings menu only shows a black screen and the drop down menu when swiping down from the top is blank.

I read up a bit on AutoLoaders but the issue is when I plug the Z30 into the computer, it doesn't recognize it at all, Windows doesn't even acknowledge that anything has been plugged in. I have tried multiple computers and I'm able to use other BlackBerry phones with my computer which connect fine, just not this one.

Is there anything I can do to reinstall the OS or is this phone toast?

Sounds to me like you may have done this incorrectly. How did you reinstall and what OS was it?

edit: the autoloader you need is the Z30 7zip 1.48gb here: https://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-l...links-1128992/ . Look for the Mega link on this page. This is from Thurask's repository and is official, latest and perhaps last OS we will see.

Do the hard reset by pressing power key for about 15 seconds or so. Easy things first . Can you see anything on your z30 desktop, icons etc. Is it just the pulldown menu that doesn't work? Apps work?

The Z30 "black settings screen" happens with 10.3.3.2205.

You need to upgrade to 10.3.3.3057 to prevent it from happening again.

Performed the hard reset, the pulldown menu is now working and it's showing everything it should, desktop and icons are all present and where they are supposed to be. Tried a few apps like Contacts, Camera, and Browser and they all seem to be working fine.

The only issue remaining is that the Settings menu is still black when being opened, either through the icon or from the pulldown menu. But it doesn't freeze the phone, I'm able to swipe up and close the app.

Glad to hear it's better. The hard reset is a fix for many problems but as conite has pointed out, you will have to use the .3057 autoloader from the link I gave above. It's very easy to do. Just download the zipped autoloader to your PC's desktop. Unzip the file to give you the autoloader .exe file. Plug your Z30 into PC and click on the autoloader .exe. Sit back and in about 15 minutes it should give you a nice fresh copy of 10.3.3.3057. Then you can set it up as if new. You will need your BBID. Good Luck!
