Actually, I don't know what is the function of wifi-direct. But I did successfully connect with Note 2(playing with my phone). Just that I didn't know what to do with the connection.

Hmm nope can't. I tried both ways. From Q 10 to Note 2, it was "device not detected" even though it's connected. From Note 2 to Q10, it was "outbound file transfer not allowed". Is there some setting changes to be done before I can use the wifi-direct?

Thanks for the confirmation.. the same thing happens to me when sending a file..

I've successfully transferred files between a Q10 and Z30 using wife direct and it's super fast. Usually NFC automatically favours Wifi direct on large files such as music and videos and continues to use bluetooth for pictures. A 15mb music file normally takes around 20-30 seconds to transfer.

When doing a manual send the reciever must have the Wifi direct menu open for them to be discoverable.

How about connecting to a Non-BlackBerry device thru wi-fi direct and sending files? Have you tried and is it successful?

I just have a feeling that wifi direct in 30 is between BlackBerrys or with pc's
Even in the wifi direct section it says connect to another BlackBerry...

I tried to an Galaxy S4 and it automatically wanted to send all files through bluetooth. I couldn't find any way of specifically forcing Wifi direct on Android.

There is nothing like the squishy feeling of a new z30 in your hands.

I connect to my laptop with blue tooth, and access the files in the file manager. I'm thinking that must be link. Anyways, that works.

I don't know how, but I believe I did it. My Z30 are showing up on my laptop as two drives. (Internal & Micro).

Anytime I am on my wifi network at home my BlackBerry device manager detects the phone on the network and binds the drives like normal. Still faster on usb though.

When I tried it the first time it works like a charm. But now the other Z30 won't show up. Tried to reset both of them but without any success.
