So when ever I respond to a text, or BBM, the Z30 always changes "Ok" to "OK". Doesn't matter if I'm replying with just "Ok" or more, it always changes it. It bugs me so much. Has anyone had this or know how to change this? I tried checking in the spelling setting but nothing works. I'm on the latest OS but it's done this since day one when I got the phone. I thought I could live with it, but I find myself going back and changing it all the time.

You can try adding it to the word substitution list and see if that works.

Go to Settings - Language and Input - Prediction and Correction - Word Substitution

Add ok -> ok and see if that works.

I just did "Ok >- Ok." and it work perfectly.

Actually, "OK" is the correct way to type the "word" as it's not a word at all but an acronym. It's a long story how the "word" came into being and I won't bore you with it, but it pretty much started out as a joke in a small newspaper in the 1800s.

Don't know, I can't stop my Z10 from typing "hut" when I type "but", I've literally watched it change as I pressed the space bar and it appears there's nothing I can do about it. If it helps any, OK is correct grammatically, but ok, Ok and okay aren't. You may just impress your friends with your linguistic skills!

While I may be correct, I feel as if I'm "yelling" or sternly saying OK.

Clicking Delete button twice should cancel the autocorrection on just typed word.
Not sure if keyboard learns the words that you didn't want to auto-correct.

If you swipe up on the space bar before it corrects (the spelling you want is in white above the space bar) it will not correct and learn that you would not like it OK

Would you feel the same way if you were typing AWOL or ASAP as both of those are acronyms and should always be written capitalised? I always type OK, always have, not one person has accused me of shouting, well not yet anyway. Anyhow, everyone has their peeves and if this annoys you then hopefully someone here can find an answer for you.

*EDIT* Seems someone has found the answer for you!

I always figured it was because of Oklahoma. My Z10 always seemed to auto capitalize state abbreviations when entering addresses.

The Q10's autocorrect is generally not as active as on the Z10, not needed really....

Interesting etymology (note: BB10 doesn't think 'etymology' is a word, but rather a misspelling).

    Oll korrect.

Anyway, "OK" is the correct spelling, as it is an acronym (and its original written form). But every language has kind of taken it and translated it into a word; i.e. okay, ookoo, oke, okeh, and a bunch of others (wikipedia).

According to some formal American style guides (AP), it should be "OK". Some don't care (Chicago). I like the look of okay more than OK, personally. I tend to avoid the word in formal writing, anyway, using alright instead.

Note: "Ok"-spelling should probably never be used.
