I own a Z10 and was looking to upgrade to the Z30. Can anyone comment on which device has the brighter screen at max setting. Also side by side pics of both devices if anyone has them would be great. Thanks!

For sure Z10 is brighter but if it's any consolation, I have never had my Z10 higher than about 65-70% of full brightness. Torch mode is just too bright on the Z10 even in direct sunlight.

The Z10 for sure is way brighter. Having said that I had my Z10 down by half as I found it way too bright. The Z30 black is way better than the Z10. I have my Z30 also down to about 65%.

The AMOLED screen on the Z30 produces a true black, where as the Z10 is a backlit LCD.
Now both devices I use (Zune HD & Z30) both produce true blacks and I can't look at an LCD produced black the same anymore. Just looks "bad".
But overall I find the Z30 a lot less bright than the Z10, but it is within the brightness that I would want it to be as the Z10 was too bright.

Ummm you don't have a white balance option in the 10 I thought. It's only on amoled screens?

I don't know about others. But the Z10 is just too damn bright. I keep mine under 50 percent brightness and sometimes it will not be dimmed in a dark room when I wake it up and really sear the retinas.

I have also found that at the brightness level I keep my Z10 at the crispness and whites really suffer. I'm hoping that the Z30 I just bought will fix this issue. I find that 70%+ brightness the Z10 screen looks phenomenal, But it's way too bright for my tastes. So I will probably have 0 problems with the Z30 screen other than it might just be too large we will see in a few weeks when it finally makes it across the pond.

White balance option works on LCD screens as well - both my Z10 and Q5 have it on 10.2.1.

I have my z10 at 50% brightness and at 80 % I find it too bright. Do if max of z30 is the same as that 80% I'm fine.
