Hi all...
Sorry if this is a repeated post.
Basically I gave my Z10 to my son (camera was broken) and decided to try a Samsung S5. (Have a work I5 and hate it and use is as little as I can).
Well, the Samsung reminds me of The Onion.com's famous video of "Sony's useless piece of sh*t". I hate the damn thing and will go out of my way to tell everyone what a garbage phone it is. Unless you're 6 and need it for playing Angry Birds...then have at it. I wish to rant on for hours at how much I hate Samsung, the crap operating system and non-functionality of the phone, but I'll get to the subject.

After a month of samsung torture, I'm trading it in and going back to BB. I want the Passport, but being a suit/tie person, I don't want a bulky phone to drag around. Need something that will fit better in my pants or jacket pocket. I must attend a lot of events and receptions and a bulky phone won't work. So...

Z10 or Z30? Only reason to consider the Z10 is the handier size. Is the Z30 that much better to make the size/weight difference worth it?

Appreciate as always your thoughts. (and feel free to slag samsung in any of your replies...)

I would take the z30 over the z10 for battery life alone. each has drawbacks but the z30 has less

I have had both the Z10 and Z30 but would suggest the Passport which I have gotten for now. But between Z10 and Z30, the latter is any day more powerful and better in terms of quality, battery life, reliability, etc. The problem with BlackBerry 10 devices is till the same : accidental dialing of those on the speed-dial!

I have had a z10 and currently rock a z30. They are both great phones. The z30 has better battery life and is faster and bigger. The z10 is far easier to find and has much more cases readily available such as otterboxes cheap. You will pay an arm and a leg for a z30 version and they are hard to get. I could still manage with the z10 till this day but got a deal on the z30 so I took it.

Owned both at one time and sold my Z10. Sticking with my Z30. Such a great phone. I'm running 10.3 on it and this bad boy is slick. Getting more than 24 hours battery life on it. Screen isn't as sharp as the Z10 but I love having more screen real estate for typing and videos. Plus USB on the go is slick.
What's this S5 you keeping referring... all I see is a S4 second generation.

I have both the Z10 and Z30. The biggest difference is superb battery life on the Z30. The Z30 really doesn't feel much bigger than the Z10, however the screen size and speakers are much more an asset I find. Still keep the Z10 as my backup device and for testing purposes.

Just wanted to say the Z30 is WAY more fragile and heavy than the Z10. Every time I took my Z30 out of its case I ended up breaking it and even in a case I just cracked the screen of my Z30 a couple hours ago. My Z10 was rock solid and could be tossed around without me having to worry it would break.

I made the same mistake when the Samsung Galaxy S4 came out. Regretted immediately.

I used the Z10 for 18 months, then switched to the Z30. Now I use both the Z30 and Passport. If you're only carrying one device and want to use it primarily for reading documents, the Passport wins hands down. Only if you want to watch videos would you need/want the Z30. Even then, the screen on the Passport is large enough for 16:9 viewing.

Z30 has the built-in radio, which I find handy. Don't need to use your data!

The Z30 is a great phone. Hub, Size, Speed, Sound and of course the BB 10.3 OS would be an excellent choice. Don't count out the Passport until you demo one in person, its not as big as everybody seems to imply. Got my Passport this week and it fits fine in my jean pockets (front or back) and suit jacket pockets easily.

i had a Z10 for a year,and now have had a Z30 for 3 weeks,the difference is amazing! the Z10 is an awesome phone but the battery life is just not good. the Z30 battery is MUCH better and the phone itself is just faster and all around better!

Z30 all the way! Better battery, more screen real estate, faster processor, better speaker etc etc. After roughly 3 weeks of use on the Z30, I powered on my Z10 and loaded up 10.3.1.9xx (can't remember the exact OS version) as a test phone last night. I can't believe I was worried about the size difference of the Z30, now the Z10 looks and feels like a toy in comparison.

Also, a lot of people prefer the Z10 screen but I'm quite the opposite. I think the Z30 screen is better balanced and reproduces colors way better then the Z10 IMO. The only aspect about the Z10 screen that might be considered a plus is how bright it can get, it can be freakishly blinding at night.

I'm so glad I went with the Z30, not only is it a beast, it's sexy in white!

As a personal use (AND) for a traveling person, Z10 is a risk unless you carry battery backup. Otherwise, my Z10 rocks. I know not about Z30.

I have also had both the z10 and z30. Even though the z30 is bigger, you don't really feel the difference that much. And definitely the bigger screen, amazing speakers and battery life make it a much better choice.

Gotta agree with everyone. Z30 hands down.

I have the 10 and 30. Both are great devices don't get me wrong. But the z30 is just a better all around unit.

I'm a business user in sales. I never thought I'd use the onscreen keyboard. But made the leap when I went to the z10. I've toyed with the idea if picking up the passport, but now I don't know if I could go back to the hardware keyboard.

End point. You've had the z10. Try the z30. You'll love it.

You're asking about the Z10 when you just gave it to your son because the camera is broken. Doesn't that say something about the quality? As for the Z30, dimmest POS OLED screen I've ever seen and the specs are 2 dog years old.
