In case you missed it, the leaked specs of the LG-built Google Nexus 5 is what I and many of us hoped for the Z30.

    4.95-inch1080p IPS LCD
    Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU (MSM8947) at 2.3GHz
    2GB RAM
    32GB storage
    Wireless charging
8MPrear camera with OIS; 1.3MP front camera
    2300mAh battery
Accelerometer; ambient light sensor; Compass; Gyroscope; Proximity; Pressure sensors
    HDMI out via Slimport
    Notification LED
    NFC; Bluetooth 3 (?); A-GPS; 802.11 b/g/n wifi

Of course the kicker is that this beauty will probably retail around $500.

It's definitely not easy remaining a loyal Crackberry-er sometimes.

    Thoughts?

There is a design flaw in your logic is running Android! You could put the best possible hardware but if the operating system isn't utilizing the power than the high end specifications don't mean as much as what the operating system is using.

idk really. It's not all about the hardware. Android os lags on any device, but they do have apps. IDK, because bb10 runs better and has an android runtime. But it does have it's flukes.

I guess it's about what you need and what you can afford. And imo, the specs are more of less the same

For me it is no contest, no matter the specs of the nexus 5 it will not have the UI or OS of BB10. I do like the nexus line, have the Galaxy and the 4 but I always prefer my Z and Q over them. I think whatever floats your boat go with it....... for me it is and always has been BlackBerry... I look forward to owning the Z30 very soon.

    Just my honest opinion

I love BB10 and can't wait to use the release version of 10.2 on my Z10. I'm contemplating picking up the the Z30 unlocked since Rogers here in Canada isn't carrying it.

With that being said, Google has a smash hit on their hands with this. I wonder how long the battery will last.

Does anyone know anyone who has the LG G2? It's similar to the Nexus.

Thanks for the perspective. The Z30 actually doesn't sound too bad. It doesn't match in pixel density and processor power. From what I'm reading the Nexus 5 also has a newer GPU as well. The rest is pretty well matched with the Z30 having the better battery, stereo sound and a 2MP front camera. Clearly the Z30 was designed for a different purpose.

Well, imo it has the same sound quality, better screen, better battery, better os, faster speed, but less apps, unless you convert yourself.

The HTC one has very little going for tbh. Yes, it has an incredible design, but that's about it.

Most Androids/BB's (obviously not including the 30 in reguards to ppi) have high res screens, better battery life, more/removable storage, better cameras, and good speakers.

and that camera, definitely not top spec, nobody will buy that crap

btw , seems pretty similar exc. for the screen res , and both are much better than "RETINA" display, that amazing marketing triumph BS

Any devices that run on Google Android must have higher spec. in order to run better because an Android software has millions of codes to compile in spite of BlackBerry BB10 has around 1000,000 or more codes to compile. Why BB10 software with low spec. but still run as fast as or faster than those with higher spec? Because BB10 is the most efficient software and very easy to operate based on my experience with all the platform I have used.

Efficient, yet it requires at least 2 gigs of ram to run properly while ios and wp8 do not...

Not singling you out but I constantly read people are freaked out about needing 2gb of RAM. RAM is cheap so I don't see the big deal. Is it just because the others don't need 2gb yet some supply it? I'd be more worried about it needing a octacore processor or something. Also I don't think the others are running 2 environments at the same time.

and which Blackberry phone is good? I am very curious since they are all rubbish, software included..the z30 screen is awful compared to any flagship Android phones

People get way to hung up on specs. All that matters is, does it performs the way it should. Comparing specs based on three different OSs is wrong.

True, but I was just putting it out there because even though BB10 doesn't need all the best spes to be fast, it doesn't mean that it's some super OS. It has it's own shortcomings just like the other big three do.
