I was a z10 user for a year and a half until i was robbed sadly, now i have a WP and i miss too much the BB10 experience, it's crazy! i never thought i would miss it this much... anyway, right now is a good moment for me to buy a new phone, and i keep asking myself what do i want.
I do know that i want BB10 in my life again, but with my budget i can't have the latest and greatest from blackberry like the passport, so i was thinking on getting a Z30 because i read excellent comments about it and the price is very good right now, so my question here is after a year from the Z30 lunch should i jump to this phone or should i get and mid-range android instead and wait for the next all touch BB10?
You won't regret it!
Much better battery life, more screen estate, AND if you are on VZW (CDMA), you get the Z30 with wireless charging (QI Std.).
On sale for cheap (er), and there is the rumor that OS 10.3.x.x is due to come out sometime in January (next month).
Thanks. The only thing holding me from buying it is that it's a one year old phone already, but if people are still enjoying it why wouldn't i enjoy it...
This phone is a beast! My wife has z10 and whenever I use hers for a few minutes and then hold my z30 again I can feel what an amazing device this is . You won't regret, trust
I moved from my Z10 to LG's new G3, thinking that I'd like something "newer". It's awesome hardware that unfortunately runs Android. I had it for 12 days before I replaced it with my Z30. What a machine. I'm almost three months into my Z30 now, and there's nothing on the market that I'd even want to look at. Sizewise, it's the same L/W dimensions as a Galaxy S5, but it's thicker and about 1/3 heavier (roughly 170g vs approx 130g). This is everything you like about your Z10, but bigger and marginally faster. If you don't need the Verizon variant, you can't beat the price either.

The screen is like comparing an LED TV with a Plasma TV.
They both have their ups and downs.
I have no issue with a slightly darker screen, the clarity is amazing on my Z30...
I love my z30! It's an awesome phone, get it! I just got mines last week. Still the best phone I ever owned, way better than my iPhone. Who cares if it's old.
I've also come from a Z10 - truly a great little phone - and bought a Z30. The 30 is faster, better screen (not just bigger but better in many ways) and is excellent. In October, I moved to the Passport but didn't want to sell my Z30 just in case. Now my wife has decided that, if I'm not using it, she will, and she also loves it. At the price they're selling for now, you really can't go wrong.
It's funny how when I pick up my z10 to test new leaks I think to myself how did I have such a small *** phone. I love this z30! Just got it 2 weeks ago!

I've had my z30 since launch (came from iphone 4s). It has not missed a beat on me yet. Huge upgrade over the z10 in terms of hardware which I'm sure you are aware of (speakers are still my favourite hardware feature)
Needless to say, even though it is a year plus old now I do not notice nor feel the need to upgrade yet to anything... I am waiting on what the news will be for the next touch (rumored hybrid) and I'm probably going to get tempted into trying it...
But it isn't being showed until march, so who knows when it will actually launch.. it could be a while before you get the same price that z30 is going for right now too...

The same thing goes through my mind when I use my iPhone 4s for something lol
Just got my white Z30 in the mail. Moving up from Z10 as it seems to have a headphone jack issue.
For the 300 dollars it was a no brainer. I did a lot of research into the passport and while it is an amazing phone. The dimensions of the phone didn't work for me. Nor did I want to shell out 600 bucks for it.
it looks like you've already decided to get one, but I'll add in my 2 cents. I also upgraded to a z30 from a z10 2 months ago and it was a great decision. The screen is a little fuzzier due to less PPI, but the super AMOLED's contrast/brightness/whatever more than makes up for it.

I'm surprised you can notice that it's "fuzzier". You must have microscopes for eyes O.O

There are people all over the internet who say the same thing. Also, if you are able to get the two side by side, you will also notice the difference, no microscope needed.
I just got the Z30 (used, from kijiji) and I'm so happy about it. I should have done it long ago - it's the phone I've always wanted!!
I primarily did it because I seem to be taking a lot more calls recently, and my Z10 battery was barely lasting until early afternoon. Before that, it would last from 8am- 6pm. That was without any wi-fi, BT, NFC, and screen turned down to absolutely minimum setting, and no apps open any longer than needed.
With the Z30 I can keep wi-fi on all day, and I still have 25% remaining as I plug in at midnight. I still have the screen at lowest setting - but it's as good as the brightest setting on Z10 (and so much more vivid) . I haven't noticed any difference in screen resolution, except on the keyboard letters.
