I just got my Z30 and my first cellular data plan which gives me a small allotment of data each month for a fee.

When I'm at home or in a public place that has free WiFi, I have both a 4G connection and a WiFi connection. In these cases, when I surf the Internet, does it use the WiFi network or the 4G network and is there a way for me to tell? I would prefer the Internet to go over WiFi as I don't get charged for this.

    Thank you

Whenever you have Wi-Fi the phone will use data from the access point.

There are several data monitoring apps in BlackBerry World that on it or data usage.

I used DataCheck Pro for a while. It separated wi-fi data and cellular data. I haven't used it in a while so it could be headless now. Who knows.

If you have wifi, it will go over that, rather than your cell data (as long as you are connected to it) by default, then Cell data one you lose the wifi....
