I'd buy another Z30 in a New York minute. And I know NY well enough to know that's a good thing.

Part of the joy in the Passport is OS 10.3. If you do a leak OS of 10.3, like 10.3.0.1418, then you'll get a major jump up from a z10

I have a z30 that I'm also going to sell after getting the passport, but it's mostly because I never got LTE on AT&T.

Although the camera isn't the strongest selling feature, it's also not so bad you would dismiss acknowledging ever other feature the Z30 has. I always thought my Z10 was the best BlackBerry I could have, due to its form factor but the Z30 kills the Z10 in almost every aspect. I even prefer the Z30 screen resolution over the Z10 due to its color representation.

    Look! It's Zedzilla 30! ?

A lot more is related to the skill of the photographer. Take a look at the thread "Post pictures taken with your Z30". There are some mediocre pictures, and there are some outstanding photographs, all taken with the same camera.

Also see the BBM channel 'BlackBerry Photography' (C00016D81). There are some fine examples of what it is capable of.

Also, I did a hands-on with the HTC One M8, which was really pumped up by CNET and others for its amazing camera, vs the the Z30 which was panned. Side-by-side with the Z30, the M8 was found lacking in many respects (e.g. apparent resolution, dynamic range, bright sky, colour rendering). So much for unbiased reviews.

I just upgraded to Z30 just last week. I came from a Z10 and a Q10. What made me decide to go for it is the battery. I just need a BlackBerry smartphone that could last me all through out the day. Not much fond of the features.

O and by the way, playing games on Z30 seems better too IMHO.

Agreed. I'd take this over a passport, even if the price were equal. It's that good.

Sadly, due to a lack of marketing this phone was doomed to failure from the beginning. Not sure we'll ever see a Z50, but here's hoping we will!

Having tried the Passport, I'm not sure I would take the Z30 instead, but I do agree that the Z30 is an amazing device, and is worthy of so much more exposure than it received.

Sadly, I think BlackBerry's flagship was lost in the back-eddies of Z10 overstock, buyout and bankruptcy rumours, and slanted media coverage. Consistently, reviewers would pan it, but users on CNET, Bell, Telus, Verizon rate it up to 5 x 5 - top marks in every category. Had Z10/Z30 arrived with the capabilities of OS 10.2.1 and a more focussed marketing strategy, one could speculate that it would have been a different story. Alas, history will not be rewritten.

I would like to see the Z30 carry on as I think it still has plenty of life in it. Perhaps, though, the design is a remnant of the way things were done, and it cannot yield the same level of profit margin and consistency that the Z3, for example, can achieve in assembly by Foxconn.

Exactly my situation. Have a Z10 and Q10 but still wanted to have the Z30 (even though I convinced myself I didn't need it). With the Z30 I only have to charge it at night, and even then I still have over 30% left every night.

Yes I'm loving my Z30 for the week or so I've had it. Amazing battery, screen is outstanding, and I'm actually typing faster on this then I was on the Q10.

Now if I could just figure out how to get 10.3.1 on my phone. Sounds like it's a big improvement to the current OS version.

I was using a q10 for the past year or so, just upgraded to the BlackBerry z30 two weeks ago. Let me say one thing the phone is everything a smart phone should be.

Am not going to talk about the os, coz you are already a BlackBerry user. But the feel of the z30 and the perineum design is just unbeatable.

I'm looking for a Z30 for my wife. She has a Z10. She likes my 30.

She would prefer a Torch but don't see that happening. And isn't willing to give up screen space.

So Z30 or Android something will be her next phone.

I'd say Z30 still worth it.

Within minutes of receiving it, I had 10.3.1 loaded on it.

I just got the Z30 and it's a good phone. That being said I only switched because my Z10 was having a few issues. I don't think it's worth it if your current phone is working.

I will say that I'm loving the battery life on this!

let me give you my two bits. I recently upgraded (not really an upgrade) to the iPhone 6 after selling my Z30 on Swappa. Biggest mistake I have ever made. just purchased another z30 and will be delivered sometime next week. Gosh, it will be good to be back. Now i need to sell my iPhone 6 to make a little cash.

Don't get me wrong, the iPhone 6 is a great phone, but the Z30 fits my needs better. The biggest problem I have with iPhone is no native file manager, unlike BB 10, IMHO has the best, second to none.
