I have them both and disagree, Z30 much better in my opinion. Anyway, be happy with whatever you prefer

The screen on z10 is brighter and sharper. This is why there are comments about the battery life on the 10. Same operations, same charge level on both the 10 and 30, the battery on the 10 drains at least 10% faster. The 10 has an easy replaceable battery to make it up. The screen on 30 is to dark dimmed. The only way you can tell is to have them side by side. Then you will notice!

Technically it is brighter and sharper, but I live in sunny south Florida and I keep the brightness on my z30 at the absolute bottom and it works great for me---bonus is the amazing battery life.

Wish I had some sun where I live. From what I remember LCD is better in sunlight than Amoled.

Don't understand the screen comments relating to Z30 being poorer in comparison to Z10.
My Z30 is way brighter and sharper than my Z10, even when I have the brightness backed right off and colours are sharp and realistic.
It does seem there might be some variation in screens on the Z30 but I seem to have a very good one.

The sideward photo is a test on skype with the front facing camera, same light conditions. In the test on the last photo the image on the 30 comes from the 10 and the image on the 10 comes from Z30. Z30 is white, Z10 black.

Of course it is if you want to stick to a mid range priced "BlackBerry touch phone". Aside from it, it's an amazing phone as far as I can tell.
I have most of the newest android apps installed as well. It just runs smoothly.
As for the screen I don't find odd or bright or....its just glassy..!
Don't know whether BlackBerry will upgrade z30 by giving it more ram and processing power.but with this 3 year old configuration it still tries to keep up with new Phones in the market.i guess it's also personal preference. So my verdict is "yes it's worth", even if it becomes grandpa of other phone.!

I'm in the same boat, I'm still using my Z10 that I picked up a year or 2 ago used and have been considering picking up a new Z30. I love BlackBerry products and have been using them for years now, I'm not interested in the Android system, the Price seems nice buy is out of my price range. I've been debating between the Z30 and the classic, I like having some fun on my device so the passport doesn't really seem an option. Any Z30 fans? Classic? Would love to read some pros and cons on either to help in my decision making. Thanks guys!

If you like the Z10, I think you'd like the Z30. It took a few friends on Crackberry to convince me of that but I've now had the Z30 for a year and find it a more than worthy successor to the Z10. Better speakers, larger screen, much better battery life. Some thing the screen difference is a negative but I've not really noticed or at least felt it was bad. It also has additional ways to communicate with other devices (dnla dlna????) wirelessly. Used with a headphone, it has an FM radio. The Verizon model has Qi/wireless charging.

It depends entirely on your use. I'm not heavy on apps but my friends are. For example if you're in the medical industry there are productivity apps from companies that don't support BlackBerry.

Microsoft Office Suite is amazing but not offered for BlackBerry. Docs to Go is a decent substitute but not full function.

Periscope, Snapchat, Uber, Lyft, if people prefer a direct for their bank app in the US they're not widely available. Native Hulu, Netflix.

News papers, TV channels for streaming, etc.

I get around them by using clients like Ober for Uber or BeMaps Pro for Google Maps or the website . Others use Cobalt or Snap. Also I'm lucky to live in Canada where the banks all support BlackBerry even a credit union.

But yes those apps are missing and if the OP or anyone else contemplating the same move uses them it's worthwhile to mention it before they switch. Luckily OP seems to be able to live without that stuff!

No. It definitely is not worth it. It had mediocre specs when released. My wife and daughter hated theirs.

There are so many phones out there that are significantly better. That has been a big problem with BlackBerry.

My opinion this summer was "yes" but since we are only going to get maintenance updates, that means no more features. If you really want BB10 device, sure, go buy one, but for average person I would say "most likely not".

Co worker stated the battery life is terrible on S6. Her phone is plugged in all the time. Z30 has a bigger and longer lasting battery. S6 is newer with higher specs overall.

I have had my Z30 for 2 years now - it has a 128GB memory card installed, and runs better now than it did when I purchased it. This phone does Miracast, USBOTG, HDMI out, DLNA, network file sharing, and BlackBerry blend. It runs BlackBerry apps and Android apps (www.apkPure.com is a great place to start and no software required to download) . Most importantly, it makes phone calls - super clear phone calls, connects to my car audio system, and acts as my alarm clock. It also runs Netflix and Shomi so that I can catch up on R&R when I am on the road.

Only yesterday I had somebody comment how solid and snappy this phone was and asked what it was and where they could get one. (This is coming from an iPhone 6 user) Additionally, I recently took a photo in panorama that has been getting amazing feedback - nobody believes that the Z30 was used to snap this photo.

Make of it what you will, but as far as I am concerned - the Z30 still does everything I want it to and so much more!

All this is to say that I believe that the Z30 is still the best touch screen phone on the market.

I think the other thing in the Z30's favor is that it can be found at a very affordable price. For what it is capable of it ends up being a good deal.
