. . .even though I only use it as an mp3 player or some light browsing. Doing my last software update that I kept putting off. Sigh, memories.
Side note: I tried doing this post on the Z30 but the screenshot wouldn't upload on the BB10 app.

Loved the Z30.
CB10 app hasn't been able to upload images for a long time. Sucks that that one feature couldn't be fixed.

Should have been their launch device... about that time BB10 was about ready for release too.
....and across all carriers, NOT exclusively on Verizon.

You can install the Crackberry Forums app (APK) to browse, upload pictures and answer PM's
A little ironic [emoji14]
Isn't it! [emoji35]
Open the app in Crackberries Web View browser. That lets me upload screenshots. Seems like however, that these uploads do not show up on Android. At least last time I checked.

I still love my Z30. It can pick up FM radio broadcast( from the tower, not streaming) as the people in Ottawa and Fort McMurray found out a few years back. The browser is slow and I use RSS feds to read the news. Everything works great on it other than the browser. I have some very good BlackBerry Apps that I can't find for my DTEK60 which had a new battery installed during the summer. The Z30 battery lasts a long time ,well over a day .
On Monday I ordered a second one from a distributer. It was used but you could not tell that by looking at it. Only minor scratches and I don't think it was ever used. Cost me $58 Cdn plus tax of course. Shipped from Toronto area.
I sometimes liken my 3 year old Z30 to my 8 year old car - a petrol 1400 cc Honda Verizon that has 75,000 miles on the clock.
Both products are well made, reliable and still great to use.
Both products also don't feature all the bells and whistles to be had from up-to-date phones and cars.
But both get the job done - admirably so.
The Honda doesn't have a modern in-car entertainment system that does everything except help me blink my eyes etc. , just a simple radio and CD player. Nor does it self-park. However it gets me from A to B safely and comfortably, which is basically what's required.
And a friend of mine once remarked that every time he sees an expensive sports car etc sitting motionless in a rush hour queue he says to himself " Wow! That's an expensive way to get stuck in a traffic jam!"
But I digress -
My Z30 may not be water proof, doesn't recognise if I've trimmed my finger nails or not :), doesn't turn the lights on or off - and I don't allow it to tell all and sundry whether I'm sitting in the garden, the bathroom, a restaurant, or anywhere else - which isn't anybody else's business anyway!
It still has amazing battery life of well into a second day's usage, which includes regular email, a few Apps, regular texting, calls and surfing with the in-built browser or the Velocity one which I puchased the other year.
So, both the Z30 and my Honda continue to give me reliable, constant use, although of course both have a finite life. But I hope that's no time too soon.
And it'll be a sad day when they do have to finally go to that great recycle point or garage in the sky.
And the best thing about a z30?? Signal strength in remote areas where the latest expensive iPhone / samsung silently sits and waits for you to get back to civilization so that they are functional again.

Still going strong after four years and loving every nanosecond of BlackBerry goodness built into it!

is love my z30 but it's lost signal bars and says emergency call only. Does anyone know where the signal antenna is located on the board?
They were exciting times when I used my Z30, there was always an update with new features. I held onto it for a few years and it never let me down. I smashed the screen a couple of times and easily repaired it myself. Now I'm using a dtek60 and nothing has changed since I bought it, not a single new feature. How I wish BlackBerry would bring out a revised motion with the speakers, LED and antenna from the z30. It'd be great if they could put a smart connector on it too so we could piggyback a secondary battery to double the run time.
my wife wants one is it any good nowadays
I'd say yes Rick. It's still my daily driver. The main thing to be aware of is that there are limitations in web browsing and in the use of some apps.
Is your wife a heavy app user? If so, what are her critical apps?
I always bring it along on trips as my backup to my KEYone. It has the battery life of the Q10 but the nice full screen of the Z10.
On a trip to French Polynesia last year, I used it as a Wi-Fi Hotspot with a local SIM while my KEYone retained my T-Mobile SIM; that way, I still have U.S. number for Wi-Fi Calling, a French Polynesian number and fast 4G data.
It was an under appreciated (except by Z30 owners) and incredible device. My wife only gave it up a year ago.
She still misses it.
Such a great phone. I loved mine so much. I wanted one so badly I went out and signed up for Verizon service to get one. Nostalgia makes me want another one, if only to play with for a few weeks. If only there were some way BB10 could get pulled off of life support. I would be perfectly happy with the phone if it had a fully functional browser.
The browser is perfectly functional. Works fine for 99.9% of the web sites I hit, even on my Z10. If that doesn't do it for you, just install Firefox.
Next people are going to say Firefox is unusable...
Even I still use it as an Mp3 player.
The speakers and the battery on it are exceptional.
Z30 was a great phone and the only vkb device that I actually loved using.
I have to agree with everyone here. My favourite phone of all time. Still love the amoled screen, stereo speakers, and perfect size and form factor. Still bring it out to use for a bit here and there.
My Z30 is truly an amazing phone and is still used as my daily driver.
I used the K1 for a few weeks and just hated Android's fragmented OS.
I then used an iPhone X for a month but the email on it is just horrendous. Not to mention the way the workflow on it was fragmented. It's a glorified app and multimedia device. I couldn't find an email client that showed all emails in one view (sent, emails is specific folders, etc) like the HUB does. I hate the way it cut and pasted at times where you couldn't highlight part of a URL, or scroll on a search bar and highlight if the search criteria was too long, and other issues that just added up and made me hate the device. The keyboard on the Z30 is amazing. On iOS you can't even send a mass text message out to everyone but not make it a group conversation ("Enable Group Conversation" checkbox on BBX).
There are many more that don't come to mind, but after I went back to the Z30. It felt like the story of the prodigal son.
Too bad the Box app isn't getting updated. I love the file manager and it's integration.
Everything you need is right out of the box for this device.
I hope someone listens to John Chen and picks up the mantle for a new BBX phone. Especially during these times where security is becoming increasingly complex and important.
