I just got my z30 sta-1005, and it is not showing that I am not getting 4G. But it does when I roam in a t&t. But my z10 could get the 4g from tmobile.

You may have to install the OS that your provider puts out for that device.

I upgraded from a TMO z10 to the z30 as well and didn't have any problems at all. Put the aim in and presto, worked like a champ.

I have updated to the latest OS. How could the sim have an issue if I had just been using it on my z10? It only shows that I have EDGE.

I'm on t-mobile and get LTE.

Make sure your network settings look like mine.

    I'm on Z30STA100-5/10.3.2.2639.

This is what my settings look like. It might just be part of the problem is where I am, there are places that are spotty. But my z10 had 4G LTE no prob.

Tap on "APN" on your Z10 and enter the exact information into your Z30.

Mine as always shown 4G LTE On T-Mobile. I only took it to the store and had them put a SIM card when I bought it. With the new OS I even get WFC.

My apn is set correctly. Same as on my z10. I am a prepaid and I have gone over my limit and have been slowed down to 2G. Could that be it?

That may be a possibility. I too am on T-Mobile and moved from a Z10 to a Z30, but I've never had an issue with LTE. One thing that you could do to see if it helps us to reset your APN.

That's it. TMO throttles you down to 2G if you hit your limit.

I thought the same thing, but Tmobile will give you an updated Sim if you just ask for it at a store. Then it is more compatible with any network upgrades. I'm no expert on this by any means I just know my Z30 worked great with Tmobile.

You can be connected to a 4G or LTE network but have your individual sim still throttled.

You are probably in a re-farmed area and T-Mobile is using band 2 (1900 MHz) which the Z30 does not support.
I have the same issue here in Missouri. My Z30 only has Edge where I live but around St. Louis it has 4G LTE because it switches to band 4 (1700 MHz). My Z10 gets 4G LTE in both areas.
    FF22 and LoneStarRed like this.
