I got a really weird problem when I use a SIP phone app on a Bell Fibe Wifi.

Even is a BB10 or android app, I can't get a registration on a SIP server and if I got it, the communications are veeerrrrryy slow like I can call my SIP phone app from anpther phone, let it ring a couple of times and hang up. About 5 minutes later, my SIP phone app will ring!?

I try Sip.fm for BB10 and Zoiper for android.

In any other wifi connection it work well but if I am a BB10 phone on a Bell Fibe wifi, it doesn't work. I tried 2 different Bell Fibe connection/routers.

Anybody have similar issues with this kind of app?

    Thanks!

This problem is only present on any Bell Fibe internet access. Is this your provider?

I will try CsipSimple next time.

    Thx

Why you don't try a native solution?

Bell could be blocking ports for voip on their network....they want you to use there ridiculous over priced phone service instead of voip.

    Search dslreports.com for more information

On my Verizon router (FIOS) I had to go into settings and activate SIP which is turned OFF by default. Maybe you have the same issue?

As guy above said Bria is 2nd to None, best sip out there ever i used it every day when i was on pre paid account and had wifi at home (i get a free sip service with my ADSL Account) it was dam clearer than normal phone call. Paid 5 bucks for the app but money well spent for sure.

They (Bell) don't block them because sip phone app works on the wifi when i'm using android phone. It's why I looking for someone having the same issue.

Some sip phone apps can work even with sip blocking others. You should still go into your router settings and check. There are several threads on the internet questioning whether Bell is blocking sip. Honestly I don't know for sure. But I would check.

I agree with Sedat and Lucas. I use Bria as well, on my Z30 and it performs flawlessly. Albeit I'm on the Rogers network.
Bell could be limiting bandwidth on voip ports....hard to tell. If your app works fine outside of bell...then definitely its not
your phone. Could it be that bell is blocking your specific voip provider?

the bell edge device may have a sip application layer gateway. see if you can disable it. also can try doing sip signalling over tcp on an alternate port. Who is your itsp?

I use SIPFM on my Z30. Others in my office use it on Zz10 and Q10 without any issues over both WiFi and Bell LTE
