    Quick question all. Can anybody confirm that if the Z30 screen cracks or breaks, the touch UI is gone rendering it completely unusable like the Z10? I know people had this issue with if their Z10 screen cracked.

    I can't confirm it, but considering the parts are the same (only bigger) I would assume you are right in your thinking.

    I know the screens are different. Amold and lcd, I think. I have no clue if they are manufactured the same way or not.

    It landed face down. Lets just say a few choice words were spoken after I picked it up and turned it over. Amazed it still worked perfectly especially as the wife had cracked her Z10 screen a few weeks earlier and that stopped working (nowhere near as much damage a this)

    OMG I cried a little :'( guess its great that you had insurance on it and are able to provide information to the community that the phone will work with a cracked screen. Makes me want to wrap mine in bubble wrap

    The touch function on the Z10 still works even when it is smashed to the point of the Nothing displaying.

    I can definitely confirm this from experience. Not sure how this rumor started.

    This is not a rumour at all. The screen technology for the Z10 has the touch panels and glass in 1 to provide a "better experience" and to make the overall size thinner and lighter. So when the screen cracks, it also loses touch functionality with it.

    I'm telling you that I smashed my Z10 screen. In real life.

    Nothing would display on it, yet I could accept incoming calls etc, because I knew where to swipe.
