So I messed up when ordering a screen replacement for my z30.

This is what came in the mail:


When I took my z30 apart, I found my mistake when I noticed the housing on the back of the LCD. For reference, see attached for what it is supposed to look like.

Is there any way to make my new LCD w/o the housing into what I need? Is the housing just glued onto the back of the LCD and if so, is there any way of re-gluing it to the new LCD?

Any help would be appreciated and if it isn't do-able, I'm not going to cry too hard over it.

Until someone answers with good news, I'd start seeing if you can return the part and get the full assembly. Good luck.

You received LCD / DIGITIZER. What you wanted was above WITH frame.
You can separate LCD From frame. Search YouTube for tutorial - one particular talks about separating Display from frame.

So just as a follow up, screen replacement with the back frame showed up today so I switched that out ($25 on aliexpress). Instead of throwing the old screen away though I threw it in the oven to see if I could get it apart. Lo and behold, it worked. All I have to do now is find an adhesive and wait until my new screen goes.
