If anyone complains about theZ30 screen they are nuts. I got mine 1/11/13 as. An upgrade for my 9860 and have been very happy with every aspect of the Z30.

The Z30 screen is absolutely beautiful and I can't understand the comments about it being subpar. The brightness is so good I have it turned down as low as it goes, which on my Z10 looked very dull at the same level.

if you really are considering getting a Z30, my advice would be to go to any store that has them on display (even a carrier with whom you are not a customer - I've done this before ) and just check out the phone. Ask for them to turn it on, and see what you think!

You need to understand most if not all negative Z30 comments and reviews are either Anti-BBRY and/or never used the Z30 and just trying to steer people away from purchasing it.

Do you ever wonder why ppl go out of there way to post negative nonsense? Because the Z30 is a "Game Changer" and one of the best Smartphones on the planet.
Lol, or maybe they just don't like the phone. It isn't some conspiracy to shut down blackberry. Some people are not impressed with the phone and that is fair.

I like the screen on my z30. It works well and I have no problems viewing anything. I switch between my z30 and my iPad and don't notice any real difference. Most of the time I just use my z30 for the convenience

I did the switch and just love the screen. Brightness is down as far as it will go except when outside I turn it up. Buy it, you won't regret it.

I concur. Z30 screen is fine. I turn the brightness down to about 5% and it is good. White Balance is fine by default for me as well.

I am considering ordering the BlackBerry Z30 from Amazon for 99 dollars. I have read complaints about the screen, and want some honesty about the quality of the screen. I switched from the Z10 to the Q10, and love the keyboard. I want the screen real-estate for photo editing and media. So my question is:

Is the Z30 Screen Quality subpar, and should I just go with a Z10?

Screen is great. The only people who are complaining are those who have superhuman vision or just want to brag to others about specs.

Comparing with the q10, icons on the z30 looks like having anti-aliasing turned off.
Only affects the app icons as they are scaled down. Apps and everything else are not affected.

I was surprised by the clarity and definition of the screen myself. With the quality of screens we have nowadays I feel as though the difference between the best screens and the worst screens is very little on higher end devices. Coming from a q10 to the z30 was certainly a HUGE upgrade but comparing it to some of the Android devices and the iPhone I see very little difference. I feel that those who downpmay the screen on the z30 either a: don't own one, or b: are a bit too critical in their compairison

I had a z10 since April and a z30 for the last week.

The z30 screen is much worse. Period. It might be a dream for those coming from their 7.1 hardware, but coming from a z10 you notice right away the pixel density is worse, the colours are off and you accept it all because the battery is freakin' amazing.

Again, coming from a z10 you notice it immediately... if you're upgrading from something else, it'll look awesome enough.

I've found my z30 isn't bright enough nor vibrant enough I'm not a BlackBerry hater at all but have used iPhone and Android devices since having a blackberry torch a few years ago and their screens and vividness are so different

I am a photographer and have the Z30. I absolutely love this screen. Its sharp enough for me, and displays the colors and contrast accurately.

I've had a Z10 and went to the Z30, please don't be a drama queen. There is no way it is "much worse. Period." I don't have a single complaint about the screen. Love it and showing it to everyone else who has a smartphone, I have yet to have someone complain. They all thought it was beautiful and clear.

I agree I think that people look at the specs of the screen and automatically say it's "much worse" I'm not sure the naked eye can really tell a difference.. maybe in color contrast but who's to say the z10 is the correct contrast and the z30 the incorrect one.

Does anybody else's Z30 have issues with gray color reproduction when it is almost black and at low brightness?

For example the gray in BlackBerry World or the gray in the nav bar other than the back button since that is black.

On mine when the screen dims of it is dark out these areas have a sort of reddish tinge.

I JUST GOT MY Z30! I am glad I didn't listen to the complaints. My Z10 could not keep me away from my Q10, but I believe this Z30 will (at least until the next Q10 variant). I do have to say that the build quality of the Z30 surpasses that of the Z10 & Q10. Thanks for all your helpful advice. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
