    Good Morning,

I have a Z30, and its running real bad. The Battery doesn't last 7 hours a day. I have a feeling that it is some wicked Android app somewhere causing amuck on my phone. I am currently running 3.2.2836. My plan is such, to obviously do a backup, then do a security wipe, factory restore, then restore my phone from the backup. I am welcome to advice for anything I might be missing or whatnot. Its so bad that the native apps close down on me. And yes, I have all unnecessary connections turned off and I check the email manually. I wish there was a way to clear the memory without doing a reset, but it is what it is.
Also, what is the most battery, memory friendly Android Runtime available? I will definitely put that on... Thanks for the 2 cents

How old is the device? I'd backup, and not restore anything. Add email first and see how it feels... Then one at the time until you figure out what is the problem. My z30 battery is really good, a day easy.

THe phone is less than a year old.... Well I have had it since June. I don't actually know how long it has been sitting on a shelf though.

Sounds like you have the basic plan down. I would suggest thinking about a RESTORE. That might restore a bad setting or app.

The OS you now use has an issue with Android apps and apparently will not allow a REAL deletion of them. The icon may disappear but the app remains installed but hidden.

The one before that might be the OS you are interested in. Check out the OS Leak subforum.

    Good luck.

I second the sugestion of not using a backup after doing a security wipe, doing so may only put the original problem right back again. I know it's a pain putting everything back by hand but you will get the best results this way.

You have the bc plan down...

Just copy all your documents, stuff you doin't want to lose, i.e. vids, music, contacts etc., and whatever docs you have on the SD card, (not the apps, as in backup) to someplace on your PC desktop, then you can a wipe/restore and your device should wake up in all its former glory.

Then you can put your docs back where you had them, and then install your apps ONE AT A TIME to help and find the "offending" culprit app(s)....

Did you do a hard reset (press and hold both Vol Up & Down button until after phone has started it's rebooted ~10 sec or so ) at all after update?

The app won't let me upload some screen shots.
And I am aware of the Android bug, I already have the older bar ready to go.

"The app" being CB10? If so, did you enable all the permissions for CB10 when you installed it?

    Attach via browser.

Forget the security wipe, just do a factory restore with BlackBerry Link or use an autoloader on it after the backup.

Recently performed a "Security Wipe" on my Z30. Since then, I started to have sound hissing when making phone calls.

It could merely be a coincidence. Did you change anything else? Volume higher, bass boost?

Is there a way to "clean" apk's before putting them on your phone? Basically I would like to do that before I actually install them. I know they are loaded with crap.

I also had problems with in call ear speaker after the display change! It is the ear speaker from the new display! I have changed the ear speaker from the old display and it is OK like before! The new display has speaker and microphone problems!

I can tell you my wife and daughter's Z30 have been awful. My daughter has since replaced hers with an HTC and my wife is about to dump hers. Battery drain, extremely sluggish and some functions don't work. I already installed the OS once which is a pain and something I shouldn't have to do.

PM services is high as is texting which leads me to believe one thing is trying to constantly sync. I don't know enough about whatsapp to know if it's constantly trying to connect or if it's another app (email, calender?) that's the cause. I think you're going to have to remove things one by one and see if thing go back to normal.
