I just fixed my Z30 rattling keys and now I'm typing with zero sound from the keys and can even shake my device with no sound whatsoever coming from them. They still function perfectly, too.

I first tried a small bit of paper slid under the very slight opening beneath the keys, but this wasn't ideal when replacing the battery cover. So instead I used a tiny bit of sellotape, not folded or anything, just simply placed neatly across the underside of the keys in one row, then neatly folded across the back inside panel. Simply place the battery cover over this and you see zero tape, but can enjoy a sturdy phone experience. So glad and this was so simple!

Mine are rattling too but I learned to live with that, plus I am really lazy to take the cover/case off, and a bigger problem is I am afraid of breaking the battery cover prying it off. Every time I had to remove it for one reason or another, my heart skips a beat, it's even worse when that fake SD door plastic thingy does not mount flush then I have to push it in (OCD attack) or even worse, remove the cover and put it back on.. So yeah, I'll keep the rattling keys until I cannot take it anymore.

Trust me, you will feel very proud of the phone with a mere small strip across the length of the keys. The back cover is very strong, so don't be delicate. I can now type without being distracted by the constant rattling.

Either way. This has fixed it for me and made the key press a little bit less loose.

I placed the tape, cut long enough to cover the length of all the keys and simply placed that down the bottom side of the keys that meet with the inside of the phone and fold that over the curved edge and then place the lid back on the phone. My buttons now hold without any rattle and function great.

For those of you wondering about how I applied my scotch tape. Super ghetto but it works!

No, I used it the other way with minimal intrusion into the panel, to cover the 3 keys in one go. They all work perfect, too.

I just started to have the loose keys rattle this past month or so and was really starting to get to me. The tape worked perfectly! Didn't think it would actually work! Thanks.

    Thanks!

I noticed the "rattle" on day one.
With the tape trick the keys work fine and the device just "seems" so much more solid (or even more solid).

    Nope...

You stick the tape on the inside just covering the back of the buttons.

I had to do this. It's pretty disappointing and makes it feel ghetto to me. I paid over $500 originally for mine and this was the build quality? I've learned to deal with it lol
