Like the upgraded specs but not the size.

I bought a Passport about 10 days ago. Although a premium and unique device, it hasn't impressed me enough to let go of my Z30. I think the Z30 is still the best overall device (size, functionality, quality, price, ...). I can use the Z30 in and out of the house, but the Passport would primarily be an inside the house device for me, since it's not that comfortable to carry around.
I still have ye to test a passport sadly... wish I could get my hands on one

Ever since the Z30, I can no longer look at a physical keyboard. Despite the Passport's unique innovative look and features.
Z30 is simply amazing. And would love to have a chance to upgrade to a Z50 in the near future.

I upgraded from a Z30 to a Passport about three months ago. I love the faster hardware and wider screen but still am not sold on the keyboard. Even after all this time I was faster and felt it was easier typing on the Z30.
It is not an easy decision. I have moved on to a Passport, but every time I pick up the Z30 I am impressed and a piece of me wonders if I made the right choice. The Passport battery life is a bit better, and the keyboard is nice, especially the shortcuts. But typing is better IMHO on the Z30. Over all the Passport is faster. But the screen is much smaller for media consumption--pictures and video are much larger on the Z30. So it depends on what is important to you.

I really like my Z30...sure hope BlackBerry kicks it up a notch...at least memory and processor...but, it still is a very good smart phone... :-)

Have both. The Passport keyboard is a step backward from the 4 row keyboard. I've gotten past the learning curve but I don't like it as much as the Q10. Using touch screen for numbers and symbols I really don't like at all. For a long time I thought the Z30 was too big. Not anymore. The Passport is huge. For some scenarios its size is okay. Overall, I feel it's too big. It makes the Z30 feel more appropriate in size.
The Passport is a beast in specs but it's not a multimedia machine. The Z30 is better suited for that. I appreciate the 32Gb of on board memory on the Passport, but there's so many apps and games not available in BBW for the Passport, what's the point?
I'm at the point I feel when I was offered the upgrade to the Passport or Classic, I made a mistake. My q10 was just as productive at work as my Passport with the exception of a bigger screen to read some documents.

I have the Z30 and Passport. It took me a few days to get the feel of the Passport but after that all is good. Passport is really a great device. That being said the Z30 is a great device also. I really like both. Using the Passport as my daily driver.
Same for me, here.
I found Passport an high quality device, it's so beautiful that I was proud to show it around, but in my opinion although well done and more powerful, it wasn't the quantum leap I was expecting.
In particular it was the awkward square screen size (a lot of apps weren't optimized to) and the shape that wasn't for me, so I decided to go back to Z30. Otherwise, if it wasn't for the money, I'd like to have one Passport to switch to once in a while.
Actually the Z30 is the single device that I kept for the longest time to date.
This means something.
I have a passport and used to have a Z30, the only thing that I miss from my Z is the flip cover, every thing else is better on the passport, I was missing the keyboard, and it's comfortable to carry on.

Check out the Stilgut cases for the Passport on Amazon. They're even better than the flip cases on the Z30.

You have brought up a very good point. I think Z30 is a more practical device overall (form factor, price, etc.), but Passport has a bigger wow factor!
I already ordered one in black, I'm waiting it to arrive to see if I buy one in red or in brown.

I have the Passport as well as the Z30 and i seem to carry the Z30 more than the passport it's easier to carry. The passport is a great phone overall but i keep switching to get used to the passport but always head back to the Z30. What do you do with it in the summer months how do you carry it when you have shorts and no pockets, it's. almost like a winter phone when you load up on clothing then you have pockets to put it in . Z30 is definitely easier to carry.

To people that have went from a Z30 to a Passport, have you noticed much difference in the battery life? Is it better? Just as good? No difference?

Really great thread.. Start to think whether I keep my Z30 or not

Better battery life on passport. But battery life on Z30 also not bad.

I think some people (including me) got attracted to Passport because of its high specs, high quality and uniqueness, but after trying it they realize that Z30 does almost everything as well, plus it's a lot easier to handle! And, I agree with some of the posters above, in that Passport's 3-row keyboard is nice, but still perhaps not as efficient as the Q10's or Classic's!
I have both. I got the Z30 about a year ago, and then the Passport when it came out in September. I love the Passport and think it is a revolutionary device. It's eye catching and does everything I like. But the new update on the Z30 has made the device even better, and I just can't sell it when there is so much functionality in it still.
I like the BlackBerry 10 experience on the Z30, and feel that it is just as premium as other high end devices in terms of looks and capabilities. I know the Z30 came out in 2013, but it still feels new to me.

Came from using a Z30 for a year and now the Passport is my main. Z30 just seems small to me now lol. Prefer the Passport screen. Wide is good!

I came from the Z30 to the Passport and, while I admit that it was more of a learning curve than I had anticipated, I am glad that I toughed it out. I really feel much more efficient on this phone than I did with the Z30 just for the fact that I can type emails with confidence. The all touch keyboard is arguably faster to type on than the Passport but, for someone like myself, I view accuracy with utmost importance when composing emails. As a result, the amount of time I would spend combing through my messages before I pressed send to make sure that the keyboard didn't substitute a word for me balanced out. I can now type out a long email and press send without hesitation. I would argue that I am now much faster on this device as a result.
Also, there is a bit of 'nostalgia' while using this device. Not because it is really like anything that came before it but exactly for the reason that THERE HASN'T BEEN A DEVICE LIKE THIS EVER BEFORE. It's really one of the most unique mobile devices to come around in a long time and it brings back a similar joy to my first BlackBerry device (the good ol' Bold 9700) that I just didn't feel with the Z30. Now that almost every phone looks identical, it's nice to stand out a bit and have a device that demands a bit of attention. Being different has never been a disadvantage in my opinion. And we're not talking 'hipster' different. We're talking 'rockstar' different.
The Z30 is a great device and I loved it. But the Passport is really the best all-round device on the market right now. I'm going to be very tempted by the slider when it comes out but it will depend entirely on how good the keyboard is. I don't look back. The Z30 is great but the Passport is even better.

The Z30 is a great phone, but the Passport is a totally AWESOME phone!! Couldn't be happier with the upgrade.

I've been thinking of switching to the Passport but I really love my Z30. What will I miss the most if I migrate?
