    Is it possible to replace a damaged sim card socket on the motherboard?

    If not I will have to "part out" this phone.

    It is possible but you need someone with good micro soldering skills. That usually means handing it over to a repair shop and a fairly large repair bill. It may be better to just look for a new/refurbished device of some sort.
