I just got an email saying that the Z30 is out of stock, but it says it's in stock at the website?

Micheal Clewley tweeted less than an hour ago that they aren't backordered or sold out yet, that the system was just busy.

Im surprised at this sort of speculation from an "Ambassador". I just called their customer service and confirmed Namueab's comment.

I remember when they had that free accessory promotion gone wrong and they allowed many orders (for $0.00) to go through, to then place them in backorder. I got some pieces of my order very quickly while others took months.

Digital River or whoever runs the shop nowadays doesn't seem like a reliable online store... makes BlackBerry look bad.

Be nice. She's only going by what she's heard, which is what most of the rest of us have heard.

Personally I'm nowhere near as disappointed about being notified that it's out of stock as I am about it not being compatible with at&t's LTE. The presser in the CB blog article says "The BlackBerry Z30 smartphone from ShopBlackBerry.com is compatible with GSM-based 4G LTE and 4G networks in the U.S. (AT&T, T-Mobile) and other countries around the world with carriers who operate supported GSM networks," but the STA100-5 that they're actually selling by most accounts does NOT get at&t's LTE.

Yeah, it's fantastic that BB is finally selling this thing directly; but let's be a little more clear about what carriers' services are and are not actually supported. If I knew then what I know now, I would not have placed an order in the first place.

Technically, it doesn't get LTE on all AT&T networks, but it does on some . I get LTE in different places in the area. Not at my house, but in other places that I go in the Raleigh-Durham area.

This sounds incredibly dumb on AT&T's part.. how could they do such a gaff with their network infrastructure...

I called Digital River, the number BlackBerry has on their website.

They said that they ARE Out Of Stock, and that they receive new shipments every ONE TO TWO WEEKS and that they currently have no ETA on when they're getting more stock. Of course the rep had NO idea about the tweet by Michael Clewley, where he said the system is just overloaded and to keep the orders coming.

I am VERY skeptical of Digital River. I know they're legitimate, but they're not very efficient. When I first ordered my white Q10 from them, I got an email that it was Out Of Stock, which we all know isn't true. I ordered it in November, and it had been out for months. The Z30 has been out for months too, these aren't JUST released phones. I am inclined to believe Michael Clewley's tweet over the customer service rep who (I can tell is in some far away call center) who will just "apologize for the inconvenience" and say she "knows how frustrating this must be."

BlackBerry is on the verge of doing something great by selling all their phones directly through their website. But the people that buy them from them will be us, the diehard fans. Why do they use such a shoddy vendor? All it does is aggravate the remaining (and presumably loyal) customers that BlackBerry has. I'm a BlackBerry fan, but I also am a customer who's spending money. I hate to bring the A-word into this, but with Apple, it is UNBELIEVABLY easy to buy something from them, whether it's a cable, cord, or $2,000 computer.

I don't know where Digital River's call center is, but take it from someone who was born in a third world country: it sounds like it's in one. It is extremely frustrating to call somewhere with concerns about a $500+ item and have the customer service rep not seem to understand what you're saying. She basically told me I just have to wait indefinitely for an email to say that my item has shipped, and then it would be 5-7 business days. She told me that BlackBerry has to get the devices to the retailers (Digital River), and that Digital River orders them based on demand.

If the Z30 really is out of stock, then all this is understandable. But what isn't understandable is how, if true, BlackBerry would send Digital River shipments of devices every one to two weeks.

Also, why did BlackBerry not tweet that the Z30 (and Q5) are now available from Shop BlackBerry in the United States? What is the matter with them? When the biggest, and arguably best BlackBerry yet is available, send out a tweet. Not everyone will scour the internet and read a press release. Their Twitter account is usually really good, I was surprised that the day went buy and I didn't see anything from them.

My case and screen protectors can take their sweet time, I guess... since there really is no date on the horizon as to when any of us will see the Z30s we ordered today.

We need to petition for them to contract out to ShopCrackberry.com instead!!

People would be already opening their "free-shipping" boxes as I type this.

In the age of Amazon, you just can't afford to have such a sluggish online operation.

I just added a Z30 to the cart but I was just wondering, since I am in Canada, they might ding me for extra fees like duty and brokerage charges. Anyone from Canada that has ordered a phone recently can chime in please? Thanks (didn't mean to hijack with my q)
