The z30 is now available through BlackBerry employee pricing. I think it just went up today. If you have any friends at the office you can score a great deal. To bad I used my contact to get me the z10 and he has hit his limit for the year . EPP is set for $399.

So depending on the employee's tax bracket it would really be $400 + $300 taxable benefit * 30% = $490?

I have only had to pay the tax able benefit when I got the playbook and Z because of the price point. When I got a torch and 9900 there was no taxable benefit amount.

If it was a Z10, there is definitely a taxable benefit portion to it.

Get your friend to double check the full terms and conditions and see how much is a taxable benefit.

If there is any BlackBerry employee in this thread that would like to be my friend and get a Z30 for me I would gladly add some Jamaican rum to sweeten the deal.
Send me a PM and we can work something out. Thanks in advance!

Most of the time they are not taxable benefits, when they drop the price significantly they consider it a taxable benefit. The only two examples of such that I can recall are the Playbook and the Z10 recently.

    I'm getting a Z30

I wish I can get one for $600 plus tax but that's not happening so anything around or under that is a great price for me. I'm shopping a BlackBerry employee friend too and will throw in Cuban, Jamaican, Trinidadian and Guyanese Rum too lol.. #BB love!

Most of the time, employees can buy phones for them and friends and family, usually at a discount. It is the difference in between the street price and the employee price that is considered a benefit, thus being taxable since it is some form of salary. I have bought several phones and play books this way through an employee, and it has worked this way every time. Some employees may not realize it since it only shows on their tax slip at the end of the year.

This is no different then employees that benefit from a corporate car (for the portion they benefit personnaly)

It's $399. It's not one of the taxable benefit deals. Employees are limited to how many they can purchase as well.

$400 for a fully unlocked BlackBerry Z30 off contract doesn't sound like a bad deal to me.

This is not a taxable benefit to them. It is only when they sell it below their cost that it becomes taxable.

The leak has lots of new stuff but open an app takes 6-8 seconds. The system apps like browser, settings are normal. The media player is buggy. But at least install it to see how many good stuff is there and then you always can decide to go back like I did
