So I got this, SanDisk Extreme MicroSD 32GB 45MBS Class 10, and it is not working on my Z30 but it is working on my Z10 (both 10.2.1.1925)
anyone has any idea about this? any work around?
even on CrackBerry shop, it says "This product doesn't work with your Z30. /View Z30 Memory Cards or Change Device"

I know I always hate when people ask me these types of questions, but did you format the microSDHC card to the FAT system rather than leave it to the default ExFAT that the card is partitioned with?

See my post on that here for someone who had a similar problem.

If you have already, then I will have to ponder that one out. As I do not think there should be a problem, as the only difference between that one and mine is the read/write speed. I do not think there is a cap to which the card can be for those speeds; even if there was, I only assume that the read and write would top out at that point and not work to the card's fullest potential rather than not work at all.

yes, i did, and i even format the card with Z30
and it is working on my Z10, but not Z30

    just to be clear,
it is still detectable from my Z30
but the files saved from Z30 are all damaged

So you have something that's clearly identified as not compatible and you know it doesn't work so what's the point of your post?

Edit...NVM, I see that you have now read that it won't work on the Z30.

    yeah,

    SanDisk Extreme 32GB doesn't work on my Z30 and my sister's Z30
SanDisk Extreme 32GB does work on my Z10
SanDisk Ultra 32GB does work on both of our Z30
Patrist 16GB class 10 does work on my Z30 as well

My Z30 would net recognize the 32gb HC (high capacity) SanDisk cards either. I bought a XC (extra capacity) SanDisk 64gb card and it works perfectly. A Lot bigger than I need and a little more than I wanted to spend. But it works flawlessly out of the box.

The HC worked fine on my Z10 though.

Sorry, dude, it sounds like a troll post because it sounds you knew it didn't work. There's a lot of memory cards to choose from.

    Are you positive?
Could it be the SanDisk Ultra 32 ( silver, not gold)?

If you have the Extreme working in a Z30, please let us know if you did anything unique to enable it.

It's gold. I just pulled it out to be sure and took a picture of it. Here it is:

I don't think I did anything special, just formatted it in the Z30. I bought it just for this phone.

    That's good and interesting.
It's surprising that the CB store claims it doesn't work in a Z30 and that the op is having such a problem.
    What model is your Z30?

I believe there have been a few reports of this MicroSD not working. I also tried the SanDisk Extreme and had problems. Changed to Lexar, no problems.

I seem to be an exception I guess. Not sure why it works for me. I just dropped it in, formatted and have not had a single problem. All my pictures and videos are auto saved to the card. Weird.

My Z30 is factory unlocked STA100-5
device variant could be the differences (or not)

Z30 variants not only have differences in frequency bands, but also h/w design and functionalities (e.g. wireless charing only available on STA100-3)

to me , there is no problem. I was using 64gb sandisk on Z10 and now with Z30 without any formatting etc, it is working fine.

i think the issue is only for 32GB according to #8
CDM76 has no problem with 64GB extreme, and crackberry shop didn't mark anything on that item

It seems that it is the speed of the card, not the size, that is the problem. And perhaps which model of Z30 you have since my Extreme card works fine but in other models it doesn't.

I don't even see the SanDisk Extreme cards in the Crackberry shop. The fastest I see is the Ultra. And I am searching with any model phone.

No, that is not correct. I currently HAVE a 32GB SanDisk Extreme in my Z30 that I have been using for several months without issue. I can't explain why it says that it will not work with a Z30. I am using it. In my Z30.

I have the same extreme 32GB (gold color), but it is not working for two Z30(STA100-5), but it is working on Z10
since it is working on Z10 and my macbook, there is no defect on the card

i am just guessing, if assuming our SD card has no difference, it might also related to device variants
STA100-3 and STA100-5 have big differences (STA100-3 is a way better device)

anyhow, thanks for all the info
