Rogers just announced it will not carry the BlackBerry Z30 come October 15.

So which model number of this smartphone will work on Rogers/Fido?

This we can just buy a unit unlock and away we go!

    Cheers.

When I went to Bell and Telus to buy my Q10 (Rogers was taking there time with it in my region) they kept saying they don't sell new phones off contract. Anything you might know that might help? might, might, might.

    Yep.

I think I may change over to Rogers. Why support a carrier that don't support BlackBerry. My buddy in the US switched to AT&T because Sprint didn't carry the Z10. Will do the same.

You can take it to a shop or get the code off an unlock website.

If Rogers isn't, you can bet Fido won't. The phone on Fido's 24 month tab would be like 400.

That's not true let me put food for thought usually because when Rogers doesn't have a particular phone. Fido usually picks up the slack this way when someone says to Rogers I am going to another carrier for that phone and Fido has good plans and will buy it from there not realizing that you actually didn't leave Rogers

I called Fido today asking about it and they said that they were even unaware of Rogers not going to release it. He mentioned that there is no information about Fido not having the phone

Dude, I work in the industry. The odds of Fido getting it are super slim.

Once unlocked, yes. Are you not aware all Canadian carriers run on GSM and all use the same network bands? The only exception is that Rogers has introduced 2600mHz as their LTE Advanced services offering higher speed LTE, though you'll still be able to access their normal LTE bands. Very few people will need to worry about the 2600mHz band offering details because that's a secondary service to what already exists for Rogers LTE.

No, that's not how it works. Sometimes Rogers will offer a premium exclusive like the moto x because their plans cost more than Fido. In this case, it makes little sense for Fido to get the Z30 when the Q10 is like 350-400 and it's hard to sell a 400 phone on fido when the Q5 and Nexus are 50.
