Been pulling my hair for a week. After updating to the latest OS the mic went dead. Installed the previous OS still no luck. Speakerphone and headset works fine. BBVE passed the test. Everytime I answer the phone and hold it to my ear they couldn't hear me at all. Looks like either the proximity,accelerometer or gyroscope keeps disabling the mic under the BLACKBERRY.

Anyone here tried the warranty of the Blackberry? What is the best way to reach them?

What OS did you update to and did this exist BEFORE the update? Sounds like you got a bad install. Try downloading 10.3.2 from this link and then try the mic again.https://drive.bitcasa.com/send/6tMMp...HedRexbIoGYDA/

I'm having similar issues on 2204

I've noticed on 2204 that about half my videos record without sound. I've only used Bluetooth for calls since the upgrade so can't say if it's an issue with my mic or just the video recorder.

My install was nondestructive via sachesi.

Was working before the OTA update. Just installed the 2204 still no luck. Looks like a bad hardware now.

Same thing happened to my Z30 just under a year ago. It turned out to be a hardware issue and was replaced under warranty.

Had no problems with the replacement.

"Z30 STA100-2 UK" 10.3.1.2582 Get's a Ten from Fen.

I've had the same problem. It has something to do with the noise reduction software. How ever, if you speak directly into the mic, and not the usual way of holding the phone to your ear, the voice will be transmitted with out problem at all.

What I also noticed is that it lasts for few days, then I get few weeks without problems, and than again for few days and so on and so on.

There are quite a few Z30's with this problem and I haven't found any solution that doesn't involve replacing the phone. Still, the phone is so awesome I'm prepared to make that kind of sacrifice instead of going back to the Z10 and I hope that some next OS will solve this issue.

Ended up contacting the BBRY warranty/support. Hoping that I will be getting a good experience dealing with them.

After getting the free Pocketsafe app from BB world. It is working now. Maybe some mic hardware issues with this particular batch of Z30.
