I'll be honest, most of you that are talking about this have no idea what the heck you're talking about so I decided to help you out!

If you check out my other posts, you'll see that I believe that the difference between the A10 performance compared to the S4 and HTC One will be either the same or better. It's BB10 vs. Android, but that's a discussion for another day. The only REAL quad core improvement is the Snapdragon 800 The A10 specs aren't as outdated as meant to believe so lets calm down a bit here. Here are some numbers to get your brains ticking. And please, can the 2 year old processor crap, there's a only a 6 month difference.

*** The phone is the video above is using a quad core version of the S4 Pro, the APQ8064. The A10 will have the MSM8690T. While the processors technically aren't the same. I don't expect there to be much of a difference from the dual core version. I'll update the post when I find a more accurate comparison.***

For the record, the "quad core" GPU on the S4 Pro and the Snapdragon 600 are the same. That means that the A10 will have the same GPU as the HTC One, Galaxy S4, and the LG Optimus G Pro. There isn't an improvement until you jump to the Snapdragon 800

With that being said, can't we all just get along?

    Specs: 0

Let's have at it and finish it here! No arguments without links please. No proof, no argument

Qualcomm MSM8960T Pro, Dual Core 1,7GHz, quadCore GPU - as far as I know.

you do realise you could of saved a lot of back and forth arguing by simply saying what the CPU is going to be lol

I thought it was the MSM8960T Pro too. It'll have the same updated version of the S4 Pro as the Moto X. Basically, the comparison in this thread that I made is now useless haha

On another note, does anybody else here hate the Z30 name?

Minus heavy firmware optimizations and two extra cores.

Well, yes, but there is a thread with a discussion on the chipset (MSM8960AB) and it's features.

The SoC employed in the Z30 is actually the MSM8960DT. How do I know?
    1) it's the only current S4 Pro with a quad-core Adreno 320
    2) I've had it confirmed by Jeff Gadway in a recent BBM
    3) I emailed Qualcomm for MSM8960 data sheets to compare specs
Since when does someone from marketing knows better than engineers actually building the OS that will pilot everything? No offence to Jeff, but I think he's just using the information he was given.
Go check the chipset info returned by the system on a REAL Z30, it will show you MSM8960AB. I doubt Qualcomm would use different "names" for the same chipset, but maybe Google used the AB version as the base SoC, added 2 coprocessors and called the whole thing DT.

I'd be interested in seeing those Qualcomm documents...

And I'll post a screenshot of the hardware, as reported by the system. It got lost a few weeks back...

If your future proofing your device. It does have a lot of sense to put a lot of beef on it. If what your saying is BlackBerry 10 handles this yada yada even if its only dual core yada yada wouldnt it be better for it to have a quad core device so it could be molded to something better and deliver a better experience in the future?

Android devices keep beefing up their processors and all but majority of apps can be ran on a dual core droid. There are few apps that utilize the power of current flagships.

Buying an s4 today will insure you to a 2 year droid update. Buying a BlackBerry z10 today will what? Youll be stock with this generation of apps.

Heres a complete list of snapdragons btw.

I think I read somewhere that QNX doesn't fully utilize quad core processors currently. It will in December. Also, who's to say that the devices aren't future proof enough already? Surely we don't have enough information to conclude such things.

Agreed. I just thought today that the Z10 on 10.2 is fast enough for most tasks.

The Z30 is identifying it's chip using the EV-DO revision; all MSM8960 SoC's have EV-DO rev. A/B (doesn't relate to the actual model number).
    LOL! That's completely wrong

Here is a list of Qualcomm SoCs and chips, note the various A, AA and AB variants of the same chip. It usually means that there's been a revision, like CPU, GPU upgrades, etc.

Don't you mean that buying an S4 will ensure that it will take 1 YEAR to officially get the latest version of the Android OS and 1 YEAR to have a crap shot of getting any OS updates at all? BTW, how's the S3 liking the official Android 4.2.2 or the HTC One X for that matter? Can't wait to see 4.3 on those bad boys

EDIT: This was from an NA carrier perspective but I guess I spoke too soon. Looks like times are changing because my carrier is rolling out the HTC One 4.3 OS update.

BlackBerry decision to not be in the spec race matches their decision to not be in the app race, numbers or quality the OS race ,features and polish and the successful smartphone race , no marketing . They are winning the race for the smallest market share hands down.
