Is it normal to fully charge the Z30 in 4 hours or so even longer?
My battery power level was way way down to the point were the battery icon turned red in color.
So in the middle of the night around 4:00, I plugged it in and I woke up and it was still charging at 55%.

Is this normal that the Z30 takes this long to fully charge?
Is this due to the bigger battery that the Z30 uses perhaps??

And would it be safe to have the Z30 plugged into the charger the whole entire day even after a full charge?
Will it damage the battery if I leave the Z30 plugged in the whole day or whole night even after a full charge?

It's normal to charge more than 4hrs. The only time my Z30 gets charged is before bed time. So it gets charged about 6-7 hrs. This phone battery is incredibly awesome. I surf a lot and chat on my phone and when I get home it's still at 30% with heavy used.

I use the BlackBerry PlayBook charger and it charges fast. About an hour and a half from 1% to 100%. My normal charger charge for about 3-4 hours.

So just to confirm, is it normal for the Z30 to have a full 100% charge in 5 hours?
And is it safe for me to have it plugged in (even after a full charge) all day when I am at my office or will that cause damage to the battery and the internal circuits?

I think 5 hours is a bit long. 3-4 hours is the normal charging of z30 in my experience.

I'm not sure if this but I wouldn't leave my z30 plugged in the whole entire day (~12hrs). Although you can theoretically leave it plugged to a socket as the internal circuitry has a cutoff function that stops the charge when your battery is full.

    But I don't advice that.

Ok thanks...I don't know if it was exactly really 5 hrs....But maybe could of been less than that.

So when the phone has completed its full charge to 100%, I must unplug it right away?
    Is that what you mean?
Or, can I leave it plugged in for maybe a few hours after a full charge?

You may not unplug it right away. It will do no harm (in theory). But still I don't advice that you leave it plugged in too long (say >5 hours just my guesstimate).

Here's what I usually do. I charge my phone before I go to sleep (say 12-1am). Then I wake up at around 6-7am. I immediately unplug my device no matter what percentage it's at (but using my PlayBook charger 1.8A charges it to full in 1.5 hrs). If you do the math, I "overcharge" my z30 almost every night for about 3-4 hours more by doing that

And still, my battery life is very healthy. No issues at all.

    I hope this helps. Cheers!

I've been charging my Z30 for more than 6 hrs while I'm asleep. It only gets charged once throughout a day. Haven't had any issues with battery life, in fact it seems a like I had since day one.

I have powered USB ports on my PC that work even when the computer is off. I leave it plugged in while I sleep and it's good to go in the morning. If I'm not mistaken the slower you charge a battery the better it is for it in the long run.

I'm using the 1.8a charger and it takes just over an hour and a half. Stock charger is 3-4 hours.
