Just an FYI for anyone interested in a docking solution, the Passport Sync Pod will fit a BlackBerry Z30.

    Z30 fits in Passport's Sync Pod-img_20150630_144924.jpg

This is killer for me as I always used bedside mode on my night stand and the Z30 screen doesn't light up as bright in the dark like other BlackBerry's. Now I don't need to 'lean' my Z30 on my lamp to see the clock while charging.

That's actually handy, got a link to the pod on a store please?
I'll recommend it to anyone who buys my Bedside Clock App, kinda helps the whole idea.

    Way cool!

Edit: on Blueshop it says that the dock is *not* compatible with the Z30 ?

I have the Passport Media Sync and the Classic Media Sync. If there's no case on the Z30, it fits fine on the Passport one.

It's probably not designed for the Z30, but port location and phone thickness just happens to fit. Not complaining.

How 'snug' is it? Can you charge the phone with it?. Does it take some work to pull it apart after charging?

Very slightly more than removing the Passport from the pod. Nothing drastic. I'm not worried that either the Z30 or the pod would be damaged.

This seems handy if it actually does. thus, you do not have to buy a new pod. Cool.

I bought this for my Z30 and it works with a case on the phone.

kwmobile Micro USB docking station for Blackberry Z10 White http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00DQ9QL1Y/r...UvbUpU11757680

It is a bit tricky at night getting the phone on the charger but I use this app to get the phone aligned to the USB port.

Check out Night Ports in BlackBerry World! You can find it at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/26841874

    Look! It's Zedzilla30!

I also use the TYLT QI charger for my Verizon Z30. Vu Wireless Charger
Ease of use, great viewing angle in portrait and landscape (perfect angle for bedside mode), no issues fumbling trying to line up a USB port on a dock when you are half asleep in the dark, or worries about damaging the USB port as you flail about trying to answer a 2:00am 8utt dial call

Remember the gold plated contacts on the old BlackBerry phones and the charging stands. Those were a no-brainer. Why did BlackBerry ever stop that concept. Even the charging stand for the PlayBook with its magnetic connection. I would love that on my Z30.

Is there much "give" or "looseness" when it's in the charger? The thing with these USB port docks is that they have to be super snug. Any little bit of play in there can damage the USB port quite easily.

I still don't know why they got rid of the charging contacts like on the 9900.

I would say the USB fit on the Z30 isn't much different than the Passport in the same stand. The only difference is the Passport's weight is symmetrical while sitting in the stand whereas the Z30 is off center.

I like the Tylt so much that I schlepped it to Europe these past 3 weeks even though it is not the most compact charger available. Like you said, no cables attached to the phone to snare in some small rooms with limited power sockets.

Go to blueshop for accessories. It's still crackberry, same discount codes apply, but only need to spend $20 for free shipping.

The BlackBerry sync pod is just a more convenient way of charging and syncing than plugging the micro USB cable directly into the device. I use it for charging, backing up with BlackBerry Link or Sachesi. I also have one with an OTG adapter plugged in, for accessing external drives.

For most items on amazon you don't even have to spend that much. Save $5-$10
