After an update my Z30 does not boot and the red light flashes 4-5 times in a cycle
I tried a software reload via blackberry link but get this message : cannot repair due to error: This operation couldn't be competed (com.rim.SLS error 255)
    Any ideas ?

And the story continued...after one year.
Yesterday evening i went to bed with the battery on my Z30 at 23% and plugged it for charging.
I woke up and found a dead (again) Z30. Screen black , no response to swipe. I pushed the power button for a reset , the red light went on for 1 sec and then nothing. It would not boot. I connected the wall charger the light went green and stayed green.
Next i connected to BB Link but it did not detect the phone. Tried with HDMI to TV nothing (no signal)
7 days a go i updated the phone to 10.3.1 via OTA.
    So...dead at last?
    Any suggestions?

Do the hard reset - hold down both the up and down volume keys until the phone reboots, and keep holding until the blue circle starts.

Had to do this twice with my daughters phone until it worked properly after upgrading to 10.3.1. :-(

If the hard reset does not work you can try loading up a fresh OS from autoload. I don't think your phone is dead is any way, maybe the battery went low for some reason so keep it on the charger also

Mine too. After the update did a full charge unplugged it at 11pm only to wake up at 5:30 am to a dead battery (10%) battery drained from 100% to 10% in 6 hrs with no use. (Z30) charged it full again unplugged at 10am very little web use and 1-20 min phone call down to 65% at 1pm. Anyone else having these issuses.

So I borrowed a PC from a friend and run an autoloader (1949 OS, 969 radio). The autoloader (during the process green light on the Z30) finished successfully but Z30 still fails to boot aka black screen . Also BlackBerry link although it recognizes the phone says that I should finish the setting process and then reconnect.

I just connected the Z30 in my TV and..... it works.
So it's a screen problem at the end

I had that exact problem recently. My Z30 would turn on, but nothing showed on the screen. At first, I thought it was a software issue, because when I connected my phone to my pc, it was still being recognized by it. I could even view the files. But the screen remained blank. I then autoloaded it, but nothing changed. So I took it for repairs, and I was told that the engine needed to be replaced, which they did. Truth is, i don't know exactly what they changed, but my Z30 is working 100% normal now.

    Read that.

People. If u have updates a z30 to 10.3 for the love of god don't let your battery drain to dead. Hour by hour there is more z30 with the black screen. I have one too. Rogers and bell, carriers in Canada have pulled the update for the z30 because of issues

You can boot to PC if you set it up.. this is not a VM when doing so.
    BootCamp.
I think autoloader don't work with vm

As I wrote it was at 19% when I pluged it in and went to sleep, only to find it in the morning with a black screen and the baterry fully charged (green light)
When on 10.2 I rebooted the phone occasionally when called upon.
