My Z30 won't power up anymore. When I long press the power button the red light comes on and then nothing. When I try volume up+down, nothing happens. Read about when the battery is at 0% that 10.3.1.2267 may prevent the device from booting.

So I did an autoloader of the latest 10.3.1.2558 and it went through fine, but it still will not boot. Any ideas?

Have you tried charging the battery for a while since it is possible it was at 0%?

Yes, as it did not power up I connected the charger. The strange thing is that after a while (20-30minutes) the Z30 made the "USB" connecting sound. I looked at the phone, but it did not power up. It was warm.

You may try the various "stack charging" techniques for dead PlayBook. One example here:

Also, if you have an hdmi cable, hook up the phone to a tv and see if it is on. Also, send yourself and email and see if you get the audible notice. Send a few.

OK, it does boot and via HDMI I see the screen. Will check out the "black screen" thread from above. Thanks and wish me luck

Saw a thread over in the official forums where a user after draining their Z30 and used charge via computer USB to trickle charge until the screen worked again.

    4. Here's where it worked. Someone else posted about keeping the phone plugged into the hdmi port and letting the phone drain and then charge back up. Sorry I cannot remember who mentioned it, but I do believe in giving credit where it is due, so if someone else knows, give them a shout-out for me. So after the successful install of the beta/leaked 10.3.1, i decided to try this method. I let my phone stay plugged into the screen and let it drain slowly. I'm no techy, so I could not drain it faster than it's normal self-drain, so it did take 24 hours or so. Last night when it was finally dead, I decided to plug it into my computer for a trickle charge instead of the normal high speed 3.1Amp charge that i usually do. An hour later, the phone came to life on the TV and when i swiped my screen upwards, IT CAME TO LIFE. At this point i switched over to the high speed charger as it would take way too long via laptop (only half hour to fully charge via high speed, give or take).
There is no one way that could work for everyone it seems a mystery on why it happens in the first place. The hard reset way worked for me for example but multiple posters have said it doesn't on their device.

It had 2267 on my Z30 until yesterday with noticeable bugs.

And my screen definitely didn't die.
