You can definitely tell the difference. All of the people say that you can't are wrong. An 8K tv should look no different than a 1080P tv at certain distances, yeah right. I've seen 8K, it's like looking through a window.
Do you agree that a 50" 1080p and 50" 8k TV both look the same from a distance of 1 mile away

If so, then you "should" agree that at some point as you walk towards the TV you will be able to tell the resolution difference between the two TV.

The science works. Whether you believe in it or not is irrelevant.

Remember those videos where they go on the street with an iPhone And told It's a 5 and people say it's lighter and faster than their 4?

Your brain makes it think you can see the difference but you really cant

And where you see most problems with 720p is with text and lines. Pictures are fine.

I think is more whining because of that 2 in front of 95. If it was, say 302. A lot of these comments wouldn't be here. Average minds can't really comprehend rounding pretty well. It's 295. It's only 5 itsy bitsy pixels from the 300ths. Calm down everyone.

Can you buy it or is it just a prototype? 4k specs just came out a few weeks ago. 8k, if it comes, is just unnecessary.

This is what happens when you chase specs for the sake of specs.

If you are a BlackBerry fan, willing to overpay for specs from last year, this may very well be the case.

Every normal consumer won't even take a look at the Z30.
The pricing is insane for providing these specs.

Many traditional BlackBerry users will be reminded of the lower battery drain of the 720 screen and be thrilled.

This is true to a certain extent but how small does the text have to get on a 720p 5" screen before you can start to see degraded quality?

Oh I agree, the specs race is silly, but 1080p isn't the answer on small screens.

How about blackberry do a blind test of various screen resolutions and "educate" the consumers?
I can look at my phone and then a HTC one and say the HTC one looks much more sharper. I'm talking holding it to perform daily tasks and watch videos.

As far as Netflix goes, their new Android App does 1080p streaming

Doesn't matter much if 95% of people can't see a difference, all the reviewers and phone makers are simply going to show the specs and say the screen isn't as good and that's what most people will believe. Followed by the the comments BlackBerry product under performs again and and other nail in the coffin of a dead company , new phone has 2012 specs. That's the way the world works , people will 'see' a difference even if there isn't one.

HTC tried a similar approach with mega pixels, with its "mega pixels don't matter campaign." They were right and wrong. Mega pixels may not matter in terms of camera quality but they still do matter to consumers!

This is why BlackBerry should just go 1080p. Consumers want it even if they are stupid to want it.

This is a good example of why 1080p, in and of itself, is silly.

Compare the quality of Netflix's "1080p" to a good quality Blu-ray mastered at 1080p. Netflix looks like garbage and the blu-ray looks great. How can that be when both are 1080p? Pixels don't mean everything.

The same is true for screens themselves. I would take a 720p screen over a 1080p screen if the 720p screen had better contrast and better specs in other areas.

Exactly,.. given the 'tough love' all retail sales reps seem to have for BlackBerry... the last thing you need is to provide them with yet another easy-to-quote actual numerical reason as to why "the Samsung Galaxy S4 is better than this". People trust the numbers.

LOL. People are just not picking. This isn't the screen on the Motorola DROID x. That was the worst screen I had seen on a phone in the last 5 years. Granted its an old phone but still the worst phone I've used with an awful screen. Even tho it was a sub for only 3 months.

We are talking totally different screens here, not apples to apples. I don't think it will make a lot of difference in the end if the screen is top notch quality, and different people like different things about different screens so that's hard to define.

They should of made the screen 4.98 inches so it has 300ppi. Even though there is visually no difference 300 sounds much better than 295. Sad but true

The iPhone 4 and 5 have the same PPI. That's about it. The panel quality on the iPhone 5 is clearly superior to the 4 and 4S, esp. IRT the displace construction.

720p on my nexus 7 looks fine, you can pixels but nothing that ruins the experience. It's a 7inch screen however, so 720p on a 5 inch screen should give much better quality. 1080p is meant for screens over 5inches. I wish people would just shut up about this, if 720p is such a problem then don't buy the damn device.
