No, they are tested and refurbished and certified to be good as new.

Most likely devices returned, then rehoused and wiped. Still technically new, just taken on a test drive.

ive bought a few phones CPO from verizon. While they might not be new, one cannot tell a difference if viewed side by side (comparing new to CPO). At times you can find fantastic prices by going this route.

Personally I almost prefer refurbished product so long as they are being offered with full warranty and look new.. that may sound strange, but hear me out.

Consumer electronics come off an assembly line and only a small percentage are tested. Chances are the one you purchased hasn't been been touched by human hands let alone tested. As such all products are prone to a certain failure rate.. it's just a reality of manufacturing. A factory refurbished product is the exact opposite.. it came off the line, had a small issue.. a human being has swapped out the problematic part and actually tested the device to make sure its 100%..

No, they are either defective products that have been refurbished or products that someone has returned that have been refurbished

That is a really interesting perspective. Thanks for the insight!

I agree I find most often the warranty is much better when you purchase a pre owned device. That's an excellent point.
