I think it would be a nice surprise if they were to at least go for the waterproof coating on it.. If it hasn't even been released yet, surely they could figure out a way to seal whatever production units have been assembled and keep that process up go forward. That at least would show that they are trying to keep up with the current releases from other manufacturers.
I love the look of the device...just...nothing else
Hope BATTERY life if considerably better than the Z10.... Looks very nice though!
I know that, but given that those slots are on the side, I'm guessing that they could have found another way to make them accessible if they'd wanted to. Again, my theory is that the back is removable to accommodate alternate backs for optional features.
Still on my wishes blackberry to launch some device with big screen thin and squared design like sony xperia devices, nothin against but the Z30 looks soooo thick and once again i dont like it
The battery life will be pushing almost 2(day and a half) days under HEAVY use. Basically it will be our Razr Maxx.

Note that aside from the camera and the screen, this phone has EXACTLY the same spec as the flagship Nokia Lumia 1020. The upgraded Adreno 320 graphics are the same as in the Samsung GS4, and since they're running a lower-rez screen the performance should actually be pretty decent. Quad-core decent? Maybe not, but it should represent an improvement over the Z10, for sure.
As a Q10 owner, I can tell you that the "woven glass" back has a very nice feel, and personally, I like the way the glass extends up to the top lip of the device. This is an elegant, understated handset.
Now, we had an interesting little tidbit dangled in front of us last night. A guy who claimed to be a BB Level 2 support engineer did an AMA-style thread here and said that the first new handset slated for release next year will be a low-spec full-touch (think "Z5"), but that after that we can expect the "O-series", which he casually said would be quad-core and 1080p resolution...
I had just been thinking that I might like the non-removable back after all. My Z's back cover is getting a little play in it and is creaking. I've dove the teensy shims, etc. but it's been bugging me. Ordered a replacement from the CB store, hoping that will do the trick. Any way, my point is that if it's not removable, it shouldn't get loose. I can take the pop-out ports for sim and mSD.
But, I hadn't considered your point about the legal jargon.
I think I'll stay fine with non-removable, though.
Can't wait
Link to the AMA?

Whoahhh :D cant wait for this to release it cant be much longer now but i have to be honest is rather have the back the same as the Z10 back or.. surprise us with a complete new designed back perhaps ? ;) not really a fan of this back
Me want Gimmie ! (oh, yes, I'll pay for :D)
I was never a fan of a full touch screen phone but this is tempting
Er, um... sure! As soon as I can find it...
That entire AMA thread has been removed by someone.
AT&T? I recall some early screen captures of the Z30 had AT&T branding. I reacted very negatively to the initial leaks about the less-than-spectacular specs but after the yawn-inducing Apple announcements and recent Motorola announcements, I'm less worked up and more inclined toward the Z30. I hated the lack of removable battery at first, but the truth is I haven't removed my Z10 or Q10 batteries in many months. So what's the big deal? To the extent I'm ever away from a recharge for any length of time, I have the excellent battery charger bundle that works beautifully without ever removing the battery.
Yes "Ted" was his name... his AMA thread and his posts got deleted. He had 1 post when I checked last. Obviously BB put a stop to it quickly or CB caught a very GOOD troll.
Regardless, I too, can't wait for a Z30. Z10 was my first all tough device and I never thought I would go for a big screen... I may just break outside my comfort zone because it looks THAT good. The typing experience is probably phenomenal.
So, could we unfortunate peasants who missed it get a summary of all the things that were revealed?
Also, does anyone remember the username?

For some reason it looks smaller than other 5" screen phones I've seen

I have a sneaking suspicion that if we went into too much detail that this thread might bite the dust as well, though I've already reported the most significant new product stuff he had to pass along. He said that he didn't have anything to do with the actual product releases, so he couldn't confirm dates or anything, but that he got to play with all the upcoming stuff as part of beta testing and that these phones were in the pipeline.
I just really hope that this device gets renamed to Z15....
Thunderbuck: I feel that the release date for this thing should be October, but have been hearing that it may be December, or even new Year. This seems illogical, unless that speculated thin-dock pops out first. Thoughts?
I also believe that BlackBerry will surprise us near Christmas with the device that TH was so excited about. Will this be the dock, or perhaps the slider?
The Z15 naming actually makes sense.
A Z10 + a 5inch screen = Z15 !

Except you forgot...the 1020 was released...when? The Z30 will be released...when? There is a huge time gap between them. To the tech world, a few months is a long time.
Also, the camera and the screen is big. I'm guessing that the Z30 camera will be the same as the Z10s and it is just abysmal. And there is a good difference in PPI between the two as well. The camera would be enough for people to buy the 1020, along with the fresh new OS. The Z30 just blends in.
The last thing is, it appears that BB10 is more resource hungry than WP8 considering that low end WP models can run smoothly with 512MB of RAM while the lowest end BB10 device seems to require 2GB. Sometimes blatantly comparing specs doesn't work.
