Hi
I am having some problems understanding the communication protocols between the Blackberry Z30 and the playbook.....

- I have my sons Playbook Pin # in his "Contact Info " on my Z30.
- He can video chat successfully with my Z30 every time he calls.
- I cannot initiate a video chat with him because I do not know what I have to do.
- The only way that I can initiate a video chat with him, is when I go to the "Hub" and "return" the call..

Is this the only way that I can call him?

If you add him as a contact, you can put in his BB pin.
Then, when you click on him as a contact, you should see a green video chat option

You can add a new contact..Example "sons playbook".. with the pin for his pb. Then link the contacts. You should be able to initiate the calls that way. I didn't have much luck otherwise.

Also, it's supposed to work, if his bbid on the playbook matches the email in your contact for him. It should find all devices with that bbid. I didn't have much luck with this method

Open bbm and click on the contact you want to chat with the in the upper right corner you will see the green video camera. Click that.

The BlackBerry Symbol next to BBM is black. If the PIN was linked to a BBM contact, if would be blue.

This means, that either you don't have your son's PB Pin saved in BBM as a contact, the PIN itself is wrong, or you have to click the 'Invite to BBM' button and add him as a contact.
