I've just upgraded from the Z10 to a Z30. Because its a great source of intel,I perused the CB forums before doing the data transfer. There is a range of opinion on the effectiveness of BB Link, from works great to its a piece of @*%#@ !!

After ensuring both devices were running the same OS version, I followed the device switch instructions in BB Link. It worked perfectly. All contacts (about 200), settings, camera photos came over. All my downloaded apps, in the same folders i created, switched. And "password keeper" and all contents was perfect. I had read varying opinions on that .

Just thought I'd pass along a positive experience.

And I upgraded because my corporate plan allows yearly upgrades and I loved the Z10 and wanted the biggest BB!

I used device switch to go from 9810 to Q10 and it too worked great. Of course there were incompatible apps b/c of new OS but that was expected.

Your gonna love the Z30. It's a fabulous device for both business and pleasure. I have mine setup perfectly to access my business computer via remote file access. Works flawlessly!

It's a great time to be a BlackBerry user with all the new features coming to BB10.

The latest version of Link does continue to be somewhat slow but backup, restore, and device switch all are working the best I have seen. Happy to see these improvements made in the function of the program. Now if a bit more speed...

BlackBerry Link would connect to my Z30 even after I reloaded my Z30s OS. I had to transfer everything manually

I avoid Link nowadays. I drag/drop my media files using my PC and back everything else up using Fire Chest.

Used BlackBerry Link in switching from a 9850 to a Z30 it was fast and flawless!
