Greetings folks,

Need some advice, updated my z30 which I got from shopblackberry to 10.3.1.1581 via ota on wifi, its been working fine so far, but I notice something weird, that my battery now only goes to 6% and shuts off completely. it doesn't drain to 0 and I've tried different things but I still keep getting this irregularity. Does anyone know if its an OS issue or a battery issue? Do I have to recalibrate or something? Any pointers or insight would be appreciated.

With the current issues with 10.3.1 never let your battery get as low as you 6% anyway.

Keep it well above that figure or your going to end up with the 'dead screen' problem.

Hopefully, BlackBerry will come up with a solution soon. They do know about it.

Yup mine is the same issue or input service use up dam near half of my battery life.

The problem with some of the readings from Device Monitor is that we have no idea what is behind SYSTEM or INPUT Services. What processes are hidden behind those names? No idea.

I thought maybe Input services was the screen accepting touch to wake and then all touch gestures??????

Since the OS last week was implicated in killing the screens of Z30's when their batteries were depleted, make sure you have the most recent OS update before playing.

There are probably a few threads on battery recalibration - most associated with the Z10 Model 1. But I believe the gist was to fully charge and run down the battery once or twice. You can either play some cpu/battery intense games or just use it, fully charge it, use it again till depleted and recharge.

What were you doing when it went off? I guess it is possible that if you were using some really intensive app/game, that when as low as 4 or 6%, the usage quickly drove it down and off.

But again, check Z10 threads on recalibration in case I missed something. Obviously, the Z30 does not have a removable if any instructions suggest removing the battery in those threads.
