I don't know how you guys but I felt a huge difference in battery life after switching Diagnostics OFF in settings. With this thing ON I couldn't reach full day of usage, now when it's OFF I still have about 50-60% at the end of day (~10pm)

It's true the battery does not need to settle or soak or anything of the sort. Although it's likely the phone calibrates to the battery.

However, indexing content, files, objects, etc..., while not confirmed by BlackBerry, makes sense from an OS perspective. This does, in fact happen in Microsoft Windows. If you use the universal search app, it is nearly instant at finding content all over the phone. That requires indexes.
Indexing should take no more than an hour, and certainly no longer than an all-night charge. On a new phone with little on it, I'd guess much less time. If it takes longer than that there is something wrong. My laptop can do it in far less than an hour, and it has more than 128GB of files on it. And it is not some powerhouse laptop; it's a Macbook Air that's three years old.
