I have had the Z10 for almost 3 years, and I came across a second hand Z30 in mint condition , which came with charger, USB cord and back case cover all for 100 dollars on Kijiji... Amazing price for the phone, and I have to say, I do like the larger landscape over the Z10... The only thing though that I have to say that I do miss over the Z10 is the brightness level.
The Z30, even at maximum brightness , has very dull whites, which I am getting used to, but still find disappointing.
First I thought it was the phone itself, until I compared it to someone else I know who has one , and their phone also has the same dull white appearance.
But overall, I am very happy with it, as I will probably keep this until possibly Blackberry comes out with an Android version all touch phone, which who knows, could happen down the road.

You'll get used to the screen. I remember my Z10's screen being really bright and crisp. The Z30's screen isn't really worse than the Z10's to me, I'd take the pluses of the Z30 over everything the Z10 had to offer.

Congratulations! I've loved my Z30 for 2 years after upgrading after only 12 months of a Z10. I don't regret it for a second. Don't forget you get dark theme in so many more places on the Z30, it really makes up for the difference in brightness.

FM radio, mirror cast, way, way, way longer battery life a real upgrade. Only downside is the same 16GB HDD size and deteriorating app situation.

I am not really sure what FM radio actually is, or does.. Care to expand on that ?
I just figured that out , and didn't know it was possible to get FM radio on my Z30, so cool....

Just remember that your new earbuds from the Z30 act as your antennae and FM radio can be accessed from your music app. Most handy for running on a cloudy day as the signal is more stable than satellite radio at times.

It is a real FM radio. Network must be turned on for the stations to be found, but it doesn't have to stay on after you are listening. You don't even have to have a sim card, no wifi, data can be turned off. Your headphone or speakerwire can be the antenna, and then you can choose through 'audio' whether to listen through the headphone/speaker wire or through the phone speaker itself. I like it for tuning into the morning or evening news where ever I am, I always have an FM radio in my pocket.

I saw two different type of Z30 screens. One was greenish the other type is purpleish (like the Z10 has).

You can try to tweak the White Balance. Main Settings (swipe down), Display, Under the Brightness slider is "Display Color Settings" - tap that and see if any changes you make there help.

Wow, just noticed actually. No I'm on to Bluetooth ear pieces, and do not see an option without earbuds

once you are on the FM radio, the menu is there (lower right options menu) to use speaker or inline audio, you have to leave your earbuds, or just a speaker wire cord, plugged in as the antenna. then if you choose speaker for audio, i imagine your bluetooth setup would work fine.

i havent had reliable connections with bluetooth speakers in general so i mostly stopped using them at all.

Yesterday I got myself a Z30 as a replacement for my Z10. Main reason, the battery life. I do like the Z30, it feels great.

The Leap misses a few of the z30's features (eg NFC, loudspeaker quality), but the screen is much brighter - more like the Z10 screen was.

I followed the same path...Z10 --> Z30. I can't believe it's been a little over two years already. Although the battery in my Z30 is showing signs of age (doesn't last a whole day without recharging) the hardware and OS are still solid IMO. I'm happy I made the switch.

I've been wrestling for the past 6 months with the idea of buying the SE Passport...I guess like some, I'm having a hard time justifying the cost. Somebody give me the final motivation I need already!!

I lost my Z10 in a bicycle accident. I had insurance through Verizon and they replaced it with a Z30. I had to pay a bit for it but it was worth it. I'm very happy with it.

The battery life is much better and the screen is great. It's like the Z10's big brother.

Hi everyone. I just purchased a z30 sta100-5 from ebay. I have a question regarding the OS. This particular model came preloaded with 10.3.1 bundle 2558 but I thought the z30 was preloaded with 10.2. It was sold as brand new and does look new. Just wondering were there some batches manufactured by blackberry that were preloaded with 10.3 and is something I don't have to worry about? Thanks and sorry if this is posted in the wrong section. ps I just looked at the side of the box it came in and it does say os 10.3.1 bundle 2558. Also there is a set of numbers 110515 above the made in mexico stamp. Wondering if that is the manufacturing date and if blackberry had some new batches made during 2015 when I thought they were no longer in production. Thanks

It's slightly faster CPU. But the Z30 is a better device than the Z10 in every way except 2. But these 2 are very important to me:
    Not as pocketable (too big)
    No removeable battery

That being said, the battery life is SO much better, Z10 bordering on unacceptable.
Z30, way better stereo speakers, I prefer the OLED screen with dark theme, better overall design and feel...

If you have the Verizon variant, wireless charging capabilities as well. It's so nice just to drop it on the pad and walk away!
