So I was on Amazon and I found this beauty: http://www.amazon.ca/BlackBerry-Unlo...bUvbUpU9941933

Considering most retailers up in Canada are still selling them at $699.99 + tax, this seems pretty decent... until you get to the part with no warranty.

    1. Does anyone know if this means no warranty at all from even BlackBerry themselves for a year?
    2. This also begs the question, would you buy a phone without a warranty?

I'm on the fence about this myself. Thoughts?

Update: Managed to contact the seller of this particular device, and it's an STA100-5, also manufacturer warranty still applies for all those willing to risk it.

Not for that price. You should be able to get a TELUS one off contract for 600 and you can still bring it back to TELUS for warranty (even if you are on another carrier)...

I added it to my basket and went all the way to the review screen. No tax since it's a marketplace seller. Oh the possibilities. But that's true, TELUS does sell it for $600; it's taxed though.

Surely this is still covered by a BlackBerry warranty isn't it?

    1. I would avoid Amazon for any phone that's not sold through Amazon Wireless.
    2. No, I would not buy a phone that does not have manufacturer warranty unless it costs 200 or less.
    3. I contacted 3 different sellers who offer Z30 for 500 to 700, asking which model they sell and not single one of them got back to me. I started threads on some of them and responses from owners who bought were some of them got model 2 some of them got model 5. There was even a listing that claimed to sell model 1 and people who bought from them received a completely useless (in USA) 2.
    4. I paid $650 and bought Z30 Verizon model from Amazon. It comes with warranty and 30 days return policy.
    5. If you really feel adventurous and wish to buy from one of these sellers or places like Negri, etc definitely pays to get squaretrade for $80, which has $100 deductible.

If you buy from eBay, you can do a square trade warranty. I got one for a year. Less than 10 dollars us a month. Don't need more than that because I have not had many phones more than a year lately.

I've been going back and forth on this. Somebody posted a good deal for an STA-5 I think it is which works with TMO LTE which is what I need. I could get the square warranty with it and total cost would be around $600. But I can't decide if the upgrade is worth it from my Z10. I love my Z10 and I played with a Z30 and I'm not seeing that big a difference to be honest. So on the fence I remain.

It really depends. Main concern would be if you are happy or not with the battery life and if you find z10 keyboard cramped or not.

I bought my z30 Model 100-5 from a Canadian seller who was nice enough to give me his contact info so if I have an issue in the future, he will exchange it thru Telus where he bought it new.

It was new in the box and he was the original owner and gave me a great deal. I love the z30 and I am happy with my purchase.

I bought my z10 from a Canadian seller way back when it was released and it has worked like a charm. The Canadian folks are very honest folks and I would buy another BlackBerry from them in a heartbeat.

Coming from the z10 I have to say that it seems well worth it. I have had mine for about two weeks and I really enjoy this phone. It is a z10 on steroids. I don't have to worry about battery life and it responds very well.

Really enjoying the flip case on it as well.

That's the thing. I'm very happy with my Z10. I have two battery charging bundles and the keyboard is great. I think that's the main reason I haven't switched. I have no reason to.

I agree. Hard to spend more money on another phone when my Z10 is not even a year old. And I am happy with it.

BlackBerry has their Hardware Limited Warranty info here if this helps: Hardware Limited Warranty - US

You can just double-check to see what they say for handsets in your country.
