I think they're phasing it out, the official renders show it with the light theme and the 10.2 leak on the Q10 got rid of it..

BBRY is currently phasing out the dark theme with 10.2 they already started doing so with the calender changed to white on the 10.1 MR update. With 10.2, they'll expend it to many other areas like BBM and texts.
If you don't like this change, I strongly recommend you to complain to some BB staff like Alec Saunders, Michael Clewley or Vivek Bhardvaj via Twitter to let them know you dislike this change.

I totally agree. I personally love the dark theme, but there are people who seem to be of the opinion that the Q10 screen isn't "bright enough". I personally don't get that, but I could see how tech reviewers and media could misunderstand the dark theme and instead, label the phone as one who's screen isn't as bright as phone-x. Choices are good. People like choices. If there could be a setting to allow you to choose whether or not to use the dark theme, I think it would be perfect.

Actually, my father is a beta tester and he has the earliest version. Let's just say there's room for improvement. I'm not allowed images as no one else is either

Yes indeed, as beta tester you are not allowed to put up things, kinda normal.


But questions like; will a phone have this or this. Nobody knows till the phone comes out

BlackBerry can change anything till day of release and even than they can change things.

So those questions are not really useful

What I can say is that it feels really nice and currently, it runs a bb10.2.0.1113. It has, currently, a black theme like the q10 except for calendar and BBM and text

What would be nice is themes in general
