No for a10 if the specs come to be the same ****ty dual core, what is mr ceo doing ,sleeping or what.
I believe specs are marketing stunt but quad core is a must ,other wise they will get grilled.
Ohh sorry smoked to death in phablet segment.
Why do we need unnecessary specs the phone will not utilize?

low specs? are we just talking about dual core and the screen resolution? Verizon just launched 2 5" flagship Motorola phones last week with 720p. so it is still a current trend in that regard. Also, I am testing the Xperia Z which is Quad-core and my Z10 just feels smoother. Android is choppy, so speed will not come without trouble on the usability end

No! Partially because of the PlayBook (I'm strongly weighing A10's future upgrade ability), and partially because the price will likely be too much for it.

Also, the mere question (after all that has happened with this company) is enough to run away from BlackBerry IMO. BlackBerry just doesn't deserve to be paid a premium. Do they "get" the business they're in at all? I don't think so.

I understand the need for healthy margins but I'm done overpaying for a BlackBerry device with a lack of features and/or functionality so the company can look good on paper.

It will all come down to the price. If I consider it too high, my money will be spent elsewhere. And hey, Android will get BBM Soon....

Specs mean little to me - how smoothly the smartphone performs is more important factor. The classic example of this is my HTC Trophy, a mid-range WP7 device released in spring 2011 (and late 2010 overseas), performing more smoothly IMO than my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, a high-end Android device released in December 2011. (The Apple iPhone 4, which was released on Verizon in early 2011 and originally released in mid-2010, also was more smooth than the Galaxy Nexus.) If the A10 performs smoothly, I'd be interested in it.

The bigger issues, pardon the pun, are the 1) cost off-contract and 2) size. I like smartphones with 4.5" screens, but 5" screens are too big IMO. Additionally, if the A10 isn't that much better performance-wise than the Z10, then the Z10 would be more attractive to me.

I wouldn't, and I don't see why I should. Right now I have a Z10, and why would I waste my upgrade on a phone that isn't any better or different from what I already own? That is the question that Z10 owners should ask themselves. Why should I "upgrade" to the A10?

Some could argue the screen size. Yeah, the bigger screen is nicer for videos and what not but the pixel density is drastically reduced to about what the Bold 99x0 was. If I looked, I could see pixels on my Bold. I can't on my Z10. And it would appear worse than it is because the whole phone is screen.

Others might argue the quad core GPU. Yeah, it's cool, but in all honesty, I don't do a ton of gaming on my phone so there would be no reason for me to buy it there.

Same adequate (by then lackluster) camera, same amount of RAM. 2GB seems to be about the minimum to run BB10 so why give your flagship phone the minimum amount of RAM? I really don't understand BlackBerry's logic behind this phone and I really do hope that these specs don't turn out to be true.

Possibly. Will wait to see specs as well will wait 90 days to save 50% or sooner if the price drops faster than my Z. Definitely won't pay release price knowing the price will drop dramatically after release.

dual core A10 performs a bit faster then a quad core s4. fact. OS optimization ftw.

The A10 also has a quad core gpu. Its a nice upgrade from the z10 although a bit small. If it had 1080 then there would be no doubt its a good buy.

You don't need that much cash to buy A10. You'll be able to buy it for 1 dollar in 2014.

I THINK despite the low specs, some of us may HAVE to. Reason being, I read on CB that, even if BB10 the OS supported USB OTG, the Z10 hardware does not, this could be related to my other post on the PS3 controller, low watts via micro usb.

Therefore if the vision of mobile computing is ever going to come to reality, it probably would with the A10.

There is no other marketing material to help sell the A10, what... it's a Z10 with a bigger screen?
No, I think they MAY introduce USB OTG with some mobile computing twist, which only the A10 will support.

^ The above is probably way off, but with that being said, if its just bigger Z10 with low specs, then No I won't get it.
If its a bigger Z10 with differentiating capabilities, I will throw a hissy fit that my Z10 can't perform the same tasks, but I'll get the A10 anyway
The Nexus 4's hardware doesn't support USB OTG, yet I was still able to use it up until 4.3 came out. It don't work currently just because the hack needs updated to support the latest OS version.

    So it isn't impossible.

    Nope.

I gave BB a second chance after the debacle that was the 9990. My Z10 made it about 3 months before more hardware failure and **** poor customer service from BB taught me my final lesson.

BB at times is like an abusive spouse. I won't be coming back after my second beating. I got me a restraining order and its called an iPhone.

After PlayBook disappointment I won't buy anything from BlackBerry that easily. I already got tricked into Z10 thinking I can pair it with my PlayBook. Z10 is a great phone though. But can't trust BlackBerry. They do not care their users at all.
Still trolling. Any mods care to look at postings?

Speaking out about being treated badly by BB is now trolling?

I'd say PB owners have earned the right to 'troll'. You weren't around here for the Storm forums, were you...
