I don't have LED notifications and this red blinking LED wasn't bright either. It was dim. Normally if it was in the day light I wouldn't have noticed it either, but I did since it was dark. I only had the BlackBerry native browser, search, and the Picture apps running (3 active frames). Wuz it spying on me?! D:

EDIT: The red blinking light I noticed was the one that appears when you are on a call, but I wasn't on one.

The led itself or the proximity sensor next to the camera. I know that can come on sometimes and is only noticeable. In dark conditions. But only during phonecalls, sometimes it stays on cause of software bugs...

I figured it was the proximity sensor, but I wasn't making a call, wasn't on a messaging app, and didn't have any app that would be associated with phone calls. There was a few Android apps running earlier however such as Home Depot store app, Reddit Sync and Minesweeper... But those also have nothing to do with making a phone call.

It's not that red light. It's the proximity sensor light that's blinking. I have LED notifications disabled.

I have read the sensor sometimes gets "stuck on".
    Reboot the Z30:
Hold down the power button until the count down starts, release the button, and then tap Restart.

Did you have android apps that have access to your camera ? I think it is the notification light even when it's off sometimes still comes on say there a update or your battery is low and is critical

A coworker got hit with one of those "FBI" trojans on their laptop, the one where it said the FBI has caught you downloading MP3's and has locked your PC, enter your CC info to unlock your computer...blah blah blah...
Right under the FBI logo was the coworkers picture, taken by the trojan with the laptop's cam.
I still rib him about it to this day

And he has been putting tape over the cam to this day
