Oh wow, I'm using my Z10 charger (since it's the same) I haven't even opened the Z30 charger or cord yet, but man that's small, I'm glad I still have other left over cords

Technically short usb cords are better in data transfer ,charging ,but yes the usability is important too,they should have kept it standard like other bb devices .

I've gotten cords that short with BlackBerrys before. My Z30 came with an approx 3 foot long cord though.... what type of earphones did u get? The premium ones?

I'd recommend cutting Thorsten's annual payout by 75% as a starting point for these cost-cutting measures. Frank can just be fired with a swift kick to the posterior on the way out the door.

I have lots of long usb cables so for me it was neat to get a short one to add to my collection in case I have a need to keep cable clutter down some day.
