@ donnation.... I got an unlocked Z30 from Verizon and am running it on ATT.... Flawless performance and an incredible upgrade from my Z10 which I bequeathed to a loved one.

They freaked out at the ATT Tech center at my local ATT store when I brought in the Z30 a couple of weeks ago because of what a Beast of a phone it is... slight issues with "setting it up" - I believe that I had to forgo the "Visual Voice Mail" component for some reason - which I could care less about.... but you are "correct" other than that and losing LTE (4G on ATT is more than sufficient) - I can safely say that the Z30 is not only the "Best BlackBerry Ever" but I believe (after testing LG G2, Samsung Galaxy S4 - I had S3 and did not care for it - the small screened iPhone 5S and HTC One) - the Z30 may be "The Best New Smartphone on the Market"....

Lastly, strangest damned thing happened, yesterday, I got a "software update" from ATT to a newer version of 10.2?!??!? To 10.2.0.262... it had the "My ATT" and "AT&T Family Map" apps/icons with the upgrade...

Apparently, 10.2 is "on the way" from ATT...

Just found out that AT&T visual voice mail is not working with my STA-3 from Verizon. Not crazy about that, but I don't get many calls so it's not a major deal. Is anyone using the Verizon Z30 on AT&T getting VVM?

So the 2 casualties for me from using a Z30 on AT&T appear to be LTE and VVM. I always have the option of switching to Verizon which would solve all that.

Just to add one more voice to the mix - I have an unlocked Z30 that is working great on AT&T. No LTE, but the 4G is plenty fast for my needs.

How can you disable vvm from Verizon if you never had a Verizon plan? If I go into a store or call them on the phone how will they reference my phone? By the way, my phone worked with AT&T as soon as I put in the Sim. But vvm is not working for me.

here- Thanks to Raino. in my case, ATT rep pulled the towers info in the area and confirmed it.. I had to get 3rd level support though.

Try this tool: Radio on the Computer

On the right, select "By Carrier," and then AT&T from the drop-down. Then, from the list that comes up, choose AWS-1 (the first one, block A.)

I have an STA100-5 from TELUS that I had unlocked. It works great on T-Mobile. I get 4G HSPA+ as well as 4GLTE. I'm in the Houston Area and most of the time I'm on 4GLTE. The phone is incredible and the battery life is very capable. Medium to heavy use I can go 2 days easy. This really is an amazing phone. So many people are missing out due to it not being available. It would be great if BlackBerry would go ahead and sell it directly like they do with the Z10's.

I thought of this, but it wasn't worth it to lose my unlimited data.. I bought the verizon one to use on ATT.. worst case scenario-it will be a 4G phone which is fine w/me.. Although, ATT confirmed that my area will pick up LTE on a verizon phone
