After using iPhone SE as a daily driver for two months, I got a used Z30 as a 2nd phone. Yesterday I played a bit longer with it. The battery is amazing. But it did feel a bit heavy. After 2/3 hours, my hand was tired holding it. Well it is bigger than the iPhone but it feels somehow a bit too much weight for its size.

    You're comparing a 4" device from 2016 to a 5" device from 2013? Shocker.

Different sizes, different years, different batteries. The battery alone is 1620 vs 2880...

Should have eaten your cornflakes for breakfast, then you wouldn't have noticed the weight.

At least the Z30 feels a solid, well made device. Personally, I hate phones that are light and flimsy.

The DTEK 50 is practically the same in size and battery capacity as the Z30 but is much lighter. Yes the Z30 feels heavy to me but it hasn't bothered me.

Well, the weight of iPhone SE is about the same as iPhone 5, which was released in 2012. Shocker eh? Don't get me wrong. It is a very good phone, especially for emails. I'm just curious if it is just my opinion or it is really is a bit beefier.

    Another 4" phone.

Z30 has 1.4x the surface area, 1.5x the weight, and 2x the battery.

Ok you just don't feel the little bit of weight. I could say Note 4 has everything more and just 6 grams more (I googled it) . But then it was from 2014

Truth be told, sometimes, I now feel the weight of the z30 though it was never so. However, there is no basis for comparing the iPhone SE with it.

The benefits of the Z30 far "outweigh" any perceived "heaviness" when compared with other devices. Battery life is still amazing after nearly three years of use! As technology advances, doubtless that weight will be reduced without sacrificing battery life, specs, etc... Still a great BlackBerry device IMHO.

A little bit heavy? Yes, at a beginning, specially if we came from a smaller phone than Z30 but I got used to it now.

Exactly. I rather like that there is some weight to the z30. (Overly) light phones feel cheap and flimsy to me. The z30 feels more solid and well put together.

Oh, the 5-inch screen Z30 is just about the best all-touch BlackBerry device ever made in terms of OS and overall feel. It's not too heavy, nor not too light. The grippy carbon fiber backing was a nice touch on BlackBerry's part.

I bought the black back for my white Z30, as the original white one offers no grip.

The weight of the Z30 is very nicely balanced and feels like a premium phone even in 2016. Now if only it was marketed a few years earlier...

Priv is 5.4", so it's in another league. And it has a PKB. So the weight is actually OK.
