I got the Z10 the day it came out and I love it! And I know the Z30 will come out in the upcoming weeks and I have 2 questions for you guys:

    1) how much are Z10 are selling for now a day? Both brand new and used? Especially in Canada I'm interested.

    2) who else thinks the Z30 will launch with a $199 or $150 price tag??

Considering since I'm with Telus all I have to do is pay the difference for my phone so I can upgrade it will cost me around $400 and if the Z30 cost even $150 at the lowest I will end up paying around $250 or $300 that if of course I'll be able to sell my Z10 for around 300 or 250 at the highest.

What do you guys think? Is it worth it? An extra $300 for a phone with the same amazing OS as my current phone anyway? Or just wait and see what phones blackberry has in store for 2014? Who knows maybe since they are going private they will step it up with the hardware

Don't hold your breath for a Z30 replacement. The strategy seems to be 4 phones, 2 touch and 2 keyboards. Z10 and Z30 are the touch ones.

I am in a 2 year contract with AT&T. I doubt it they will offer a program that will allow me to do a reasonably priced early upgrade. If they do though, I would strongly consider it. I bought my Z10 sight unseen. Because of the size difference of the phone, I will definitely want hands on the Z30 before making that decision.

I picked up the Z10 at the off contract price in early February. Love it. I'm considering the Z30, but I need to hold a live model before I decide.
As for the contract price? With the way that the Canadian carriers are taking advantage of the new 2-year contracts imposed upon them by the CRTC to give less for more money, I'm concerned what the cost will be. I'm also with Telus, and wouldn't be surprised to see the contract price be somewhere around $250 to $275. Hope not, but we'll see.

I'd love to get a Z30, but I'm also deciding on a Microsoft Surface Pro 2.

I'm wondering exactly when launch day is here in Canada. Once it's made public and I get my hands on a shiny new Z30, then I can give this Z10 (February 5th vintage) as a hand me down.

Will be a year at the end of next Feb when I got my Z10. I suspect the Z30 will launch here in Canada fairly soon. With all this said, my Z10 works absolutely cherry for me, and I cannot see myself replacing it yet. Depending on where things head in the next several months, I may snag a Z30 just so I can have BB should they completely exit the consumer market before any new devices after the Z30. Other thought I have is because I like the size and form factor of the Z10, I may buy an unlocked Z10 depending on how low prices get just to have a replacement for this Z10 when it decides to get funky on me. I would keep it boxed and ready to go for when one starts to look crappy or begins to malfunction.

For me the big thing is if/when BB exits the hardware/consumer market, will there be BB10 OS equipped phones left to buy. If not, I will struggle to find an OS I will like unless one of the Droid based phones starts to put hub like functionality and BB10 gestures into the phone. First company that makes the Droid OS feel like BB10, will have my business after BB exits

I've been with Rogers for 15 years, picked up the Z10 on launch day and wanted to do the same with the Z30. It looks like their decision is real.

    Here's the response I got:

@Rogers_Chris: @Konfucius18 We work with many manufacturers who bring countless devices to market a year. We believe the Z10 Q10 and Q5 meet customer needs

    WTF.

Got the Z launch day. It's only been 8 months and it's a pretty minor upgrade all in all so I definitely won't be buying at launch.

To clarify: the enhanced processor males the "amazing os" even better on the Z30 by all accounts. Apparently the fluidity is out of this world. The screen technology change and much bigger battery means I'll get a whole day and a bit on top of regular use, rather than the 10 hours I usually get (unless I play a game, at which point my battery sinks quickly). The new microphone tech means people will hear me with better quality, and the Improved single receiver means I'll hear them better, have stronger signal is remote areas, and have a faster Internet connection.

All that combined makes me think: hell yes, I want one.

I got the Z first day in Canada on Rogers.

While I'm sure I would be fine sticking with the Z as it has been an amazing phone I am strongly considering the 30.

You can understand how this is difficult news for me today about Rogers and I am now looking elsewhere. I will be calling around and not making an emotional decision but one that works for my needs. I will most likely have the Z30 by launch day and will let you know in posts if this is the case

The z30 is supposed to be the high end touch screen so off contract I highly doubt it will be that cheap. As for the Z10 used not sure what you can get for it. Maybe 200- 300. Maybe

I bought the Z10 in February, got the HTC One in May, and plan to get the white Z30 when it comes out. Not everyone is a phone ***** like me or has the funds to renew phones seasonally but, in general, regular folk with the Z10 should just wait until next year's BlackBerrys at the earliest. The situation is akin to the S3 / S4 or the iPhone 5 / iPhone 5s where one will not miss out too drastically by waiting a year or two for the next models. If ain't broken, why go through the hastle of getting a new one?

And yes, I believe BlackBerry will still offer smartphones next year regardless of the outcome with their strategic alternatives review.
