The battery in my beloved Z30 is bulging to the point that it has actually cracked (slightly) the hard outer shell of my OtterBox Commuter series case. I'm getting concerned. If I were to have the battery replaced, would I experience any loss of data and/or loss of my current settings?

Never ever use a cracked battery ( even slightly ) , its really dangerous .

Thanks for the obvious tip but it doesn't really answer my question.

No, you would not lose any of ur data when replacing ur battery, but anytime you have your phone serviced you should backup first regardless.

You won't lose the settings or any data if you replace the battery. But replace that thing right away and do it yourself. You can get one cheap on ebay and it's incredibly easy to replace. All you need is a T4 screwdriver. There's no adhesive at all. It's one of the easiest phones ever to disassemble.

Thank you. I would absolutely hate to lose my settings and/or any data. It's good to know that disconnecting from a power supply won't cause any loss.

Thanks for the answer. It's a pain in the *** for me to properly back up my Z30 ever since BlackBerry Link stopped working with Windows 10. The closest thing I have to Link is Ultimate Backup but it doesn't backup settings.

Try Darcy Tools for a backup. Worked well for me last time I tried.

Did Darcy Tools back up everything including all settings?
