Hi I'm a frustrated fido customer that cannot for the life of me find anywhere that sells the Z30 off contract locked or unlocked.
I tried every store in Richmond Center in BC without any luck so far.
Telus was doing a special deal of 600 dollar off contract but when I asked they said I needed to be a telus customer.
I do not know any telus friends so I cannot take advantage of the system.

Does anyone know where I can possibly get a Z30 off contract for 600 dollars?

Telus Webstore: Just go to telusmobility.com, pick the z30, off contract, and choose no term, and they'll add a $10 sim card to the order... it will have a "remove" link and you can remove it.

And the kicker? The device is only $600 before HST: $678 all in. Bell is $113 (with tax) more.

Where to buy a Blackberry Z30 Off contract unlocked or locked?-telus_z30.png

    Go here:

    https://shop.telus.com/blackberry_z30.php

    Click "new customer"

    Click "no term"

Black is the only option... click "Checkout"

On "Cart Summary" click "remove" next to SIM card.

SIM removed, total reduced by $10.

Click "Continue". Fill out the form.

Click "Continue". Enter Credit Card Info. Click Buy Now (or whatever) and you'll get your confirmation screen and email.

Now, they may cancel the order without the SIM, but since the system lets you remove it, I don't see why they would.

Hi I was wondering if the model with Telus is compatible with Fido and all? It's STA 1000-5 right?

I ordered mine on the Telus site yesterday, in hoping it comes any day! I still haven't gotten shipping info but I'm hoping they forget to send it and it will just show up in the mail soon!

And I'm on Rogers so I'll unlock it

    From the Telus Z30 page:

    4G LTE (LTE): 700MHz (Band 17) / 850MHz (Band 5) / 1900MHz (Band 2) / AWS (Band 4) / 2600MHz (Band 7)
    4G (HSPA): 2100MHz (Band I) / 1900MHz (Band II) / AWS (Band IV) / 850MHz (Band V)
    2.5G (GSM): 850MHz / 900MHz / 1800MHz / 1900MHz
From the Rogers Galaxy Note III page:

    GSM/EDGE Bands: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
    HSPA+/HSPA Bands: 850/AWS/1900/2100 MHz
    LTE Bands: 2100, 2600 MHz
So it looks like the Telus model lacks only the 2100 MHz LTE band that a rogers device like the Galaxy Note III has. I don't know what that means for LTE coverage on Fido or Rogers (that is, is having one of those two bands enough?) but I like that the Telus one has AWS (which is I think 1700 MHz) support on LTE.

...but here's a link that might shed some light:

Rogers confirms 2600MHz LTE availability across its 2100MHz footprint

So having the 2600 MHz support might be all you need for Fido, but don't quote me on that.

In the long run won't a phone with 700 LTE be more useful than a phone with 2100 LTE, once the auction happens in Canada? That spectrum is supposed to be "prime" isn't it?

I heard wind mobile and t mobile use different types of sin cards so they wouldn't work with any other carrier. I find that out today when talking to the manager of wireless waves in canada.

I don't think there was sarcasm, there are retailers on Amazon.com that WON'T deliver to Canada. Even Amazon themselves have certain items they won't ship to Canada and specific addresses. In fact, the one seller I tried for the Z30 doesn't ship to Canada.

^^^ he's right. it's also because of amazon.ca. if they have the same product on .com (US) and .ca (CA), the US site won't ship to you because they would rather have you pay the inflated price on the Canadaian site. I'm lucky because I live about a half hour's drive from a package receiving depot just across the border - I just ship it there and go pick it up.

gsmnation.com seems like a good deal on the unlocked Z30, $647cdn and if you look at the compatibility, it is full LTE 1700/2600 on Rogers. I may be tempted to go that route if Rogers does not get off their Butts and get the Z30 outside of Pre-Order...

I'm on wind as well. From what I gather, it should work. Also Wind phones cost more, so you would be saving money with Telus and there is no guarantee that Wind will even release it, to be honest. You have 15 days to return the phone otherwise. So no risk, either way. That's what I plan to do anyways.
